Achalasia after Heller Myotomy

Hi,

I have had achalasia for about 7 years now. Since being diagnosed with

achalasia, I have had 2 surgeries. I had a HM with a partial fundoplication in

2006 and it seemed to be working well for me for about a year when I started to

have swallowing issues again. After further testing, they found out that I now

had a Hiatal Hernia and my fundoplication that was done was starting to come

undone. This brought me back to the surgical table once again in 2009. Since the

last surgery, heartburn has been a big issue for me. I am on 3 different

medications that I take up to 4 times a day (a total of 9 doses a day) and I

still have heartburn. Now I am experiencing some sharp pains in my

esophagus/stomach area. I was seeing Dr. Maish at UCLA for the past couple

of years, but I just found out that she has moved to Freemont, CA which is quite

a ways from me. I was wondering if anyone knew of any doctors in the Los Angeles

area that specialize in Achalasia. I kind of need someone specialized because

Achalasia isnt my only esophageal disease. I also have a pretty severe case of

Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Because of this, I have EGD every 3 months. Needless

to say, I would like a good doctor that isnt just going to want to cut me open.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
