Guest guest
Wow, ! That *is* stress! Something about being needed as a moma, and meeting that need? And, ya: BIG RELIEF. I had a kid who did that a number of times between 12 and 22. Always at the swimming pool. Nearly drowned the last time and was in ICU for five days. He *finally* quit swimming, and it's never happened again. It had something to do with his blood pressure dropping when he changed from horizontal to upright; called postural hypotension. And it is very very scary. Good luck tomorrow with some kind of decent resolution on this: SO frustrating to have come this far, and still be waiting on news. . . xox, > > I know stress can cause spasms, and last week when I was stressing about my surgery not being successful, I stressed lots and consequently had a few spasms, mostly during the early hours of the morning as usual. > Yesterday, I had my biggest stress test yet, and 24 hours later I still haven't had a spasm...go figure! > My 16 year old son passed out and I couldn't wake him. I was with him at the time and for no reason he was suddenly unconscious. After a ride to the hospital and 4 hours in the ER we were told it was simply low blood pressure, which was a relief. Later I wondered why I didn't get any spasms! I thought this would have brought on some for sure! > > You may also notice my email and details may me slightly different. While I was at the hospital my hubby updated to a newer version of Firefox, and for some reason I could not log in with my old details. That caused me some frustration too! > > Anyway, only one more day to wait now to see my doc regarding my barium swallow. > > (Australia) >
Guest guest
Thanks . Gosh that must have been scary passing out in a swimming pool. I will be worried now every time he swims! > > > > I know stress can cause spasms, and last week when I was stressing about my surgery not being successful, I stressed lots and consequently had a few spasms, mostly during the early hours of the morning as usual. > > Yesterday, I had my biggest stress test yet, and 24 hours later I still haven't had a spasm...go figure! > > My 16 year old son passed out and I couldn't wake him. Guest guest
, didn't mean to scare you. The first time it happened, he was already out of the pool, and keeled over on the apron, and cracked his head on the cement. The next few times, it was just as he was getting out of the pool, and slipped back in. And was pulled out by friends. The final time, he swam half way across, dived, and was squatting on the bottom waiting to catch his girlfriend's legs as she swam over him. When he didn't come up, she called the life guard. I'd think it worth it to discover if his low blood pressure is all the time, or just when changing postures. The docs also said, it could happen if he, say, stood at attention for too long. (Like a soldier on a parade ground.) And they thought it would keep him out of the military. If your kid's anything like mine, he'll go into deep denial, so if you can work on that, it's all to the good. At least make sure he doesn't swim alone. Period. Hope you're getting great news as we speak! xox, > > > > > > I know stress can cause spasms, and last week when I was stressing about my surgery not being successful, I stressed lots and consequently had a few spasms, mostly during the early hours of the morning as usual. > > > Yesterday, I had my biggest stress test yet, and 24 hours later I still haven't had a spasm...go figure! > > > My 16 year old son passed out and I couldn't wake him.
