So my appt went well, Dr Kline answered a lot of my questions. He wants to do

some tests on me to see what exactly is going on with me. Kinda not looking

forward to another manatory (I don't think I spelled that lol) study and a 24 ph

study which will be a new one for me. Oh yeah he said he'll make sure that he

remembers not like my idiot GI doctor. Another plus is that he treats about 3-4

patients a week with Achalasia!!

, that's good news that Dr. Kline treats many with achalasia.  I have

heard of him and they have very goood doc's at USC for Achalasia.  I don't envy

you having to go through another manometry test, oh I hate those!!!!  Did he

mention a dilitation??  When will you have the tests done?

Well, hang in there and glad you are moving forward towards getting a fix and

some relief!

Thinking of you, Julee in Oregon!

He did mention about it but he wants to see the tests first. It won't be until

next month, I have a HMO so I have to wait for an auth. To get approved but my

insurance is pretty quick with that kinda of stuff. Thanks

Hi, ,

I live in San Diego and was referred to doctors at USC in 2008 related

to my swallowing difficulties. Dr. Steve DeMeester met with me first and

performed the tests which confirmed achalasia. The manometry at USC was

much easier than the test that had been performed at my local hospital

in San Diego. The equipment and technicians at USC were excellent. I

chose to have a pneumatic dilitation rather than a myotomy; because Dr.

DeMeester is a surgeon, he referred me to Dr. Kline, a GI, who

performed the 30 mm dilitation. That was four years ago, and I'm

continuing to eat well since. You have selected an excellent doctor, and

I wish you well. Please feel free to contact me if you wish.

Warm regards,

Love in San Diego
