Guest guest
You are lucky if you are better than before. My habit is just lots of liquids.....that's it!! Mostly I am sad all the time because the simple pleasures and fun has been taken away from my life! We went away for Easter (like we have done every year for 25 years). I hardly slept and had no energy so after one night we came home. With no social life or the ability to travel, I am not sure what I have to look forward to in the future! I know some of you will say there is lots to look forward to, but at the moment I can't see it! > > Nope, never going to be *perfect* again. But truth is, though disconcerting, this is still enormously better than before. AND I pretty much know how to cope now. But also clearly a reminder that I need to stay aware, and keep working towards forming new habits (with LOTS of liquids, lots of chewing, and only certain foods, which even then can occasionally turn on you). Just watch that it doesn't turn into a trend, eh? > xox > /WV >
Guest guest
.. i am so sorry for your meatloaf episode... been there too. yes i had the feeling that i would be all AOK after the myotomy... but there are always challenges.. but i did enjoy a rare steak .. not the whole thing of course.. at outback.. and chewed it well it was so good.. i have found if meatloaf or hamburger is 'fluffy' ... it works well,, as in not packed down. there is a gourmet coffee shop in our little town that makes the most wonderful burger on jalapeno bread.. with carmalized onions.. and it seems to work (mostly.. lol) but i take it easy on the bread... and i have eaten meatloaf that worked, and some that didnt, i love meatloaf... be of good cheer.. at least it wasnt on your pillow!!!! LOL i got 5 of the memory foam pillow from walmart and i have beanie pillow and a feather pillow and i have this little 'make my nest " routine.. taking into consideration my neck problem (makes my right arm not even want to Work!) and hurts bad.. and taking into consideration my A.. and o well it is working mostly!! could be worse!! we have both been there too , huh?? Guest guest
Thanks, Kim! No big deal really. Just need to stay realistic, I guess. I'm not having to sleep with extra pillows -- never did. But it's NICE not having to clean up the regurge, and change sheets and pillowcases, AND wash 'em out (I do most of my washing by hand). Don't know why when regurging was the *biggest* symptom all along I never had aspiration. Some small night coughing episodes two or three times a year, but never aspiration. We are all each one of us so different! xox /WV > > .. i am so sorry for your meatloaf episode... been there too. yes i had the feeling that i would be all AOK after the myotomy... but there are always challenges.. but i did enjoy a rare steak .. not the whole thing of course.. at outback.. and chewed it well it was so good.. i have found if meatloaf or hamburger is 'fluffy' ... it works well,, as in not packed down. there is a gourmet coffee shop in our little town that makes the most wonderful burger on jalapeno bread.. with carmalized onions.. and it seems to work (mostly.. lol) but i take it easy on the bread... and i have eaten meatloaf that worked, and some that didnt, i love meatloaf... be of good cheer.. at least it wasnt on your pillow!!!!
