Hey ,good going on the weight loss!!! :) believe me, I know how hard it is to lose weight!I have heard, your body remembers the efforts you put in to lose weight and so it'll be easier to reach that same level the next time, but I think the opposite is true.I have exercised off and on over the years(mostly off) and I put a lot of effort into it when I did exercise and have gone for as long as 3 months, consistently. and my body may remember the level of fitness I reached but it's taking longer to reach any noticable loss and gains. I think because of how long I was consistent with exercise,it was 'used to' me exercising so that's why it's taken so long to see any actually weight loss.As I said,I've gone 3 whole months exercising and I finally

passed that time frame and it's like my body is finally saying "oh, your actually going to go longer this time!!" and because I have gone longer I'm just now beginning to see weight loss.If I quit at this point,it's going to take some major effort next time to reached this same level of weight loss, and you know,I am just not willing to have to start all over again.I am so glad I pushed myself to exercise all those days I didn't feel like exercising.I am so happy for you girl!!! I know how hard you worked to lose those 10lbs.Keep working hard and before you know it,you'll be at goal!! :)My goal,is to make exercise a daily part of my life-well, at least 5 days a week! LOLI started at 220,I think my highest was 245,but I'm not sure but I think it was.For a while there I refused to weigh myself cause it would have just depressed me.Anyways,I have been battling this weight my entire adult life and I'm just tired of

fighting it.So I decided to at least get fit even if I didn't lose weight but you know how that goes. I want to,I want to,I want to, lose weight!! LOL :)I had changed my eating and cooking habits a long time ago and I still follow it today, but I never lost any weight with diet alone,so now, I have added exercise to the mix and I guess that's just the type of weight loss effort I needed to do cause after all these years of eating in moderation and portion control I am just now losing weight with exercise.Perhaps it's the combination of both that's working, whatever it is,I'm not quitting.I am accustomed to eating less so I won't be quitting that and I am working on making exercise a daily part of my life so I'm not quitting that, although I expect there will days I miss but I'm not quitting! So if I ever give up the fight, there won't be anything I will be quitting because it will be a part of my life, just like breathing and

eating. You keep it up girl!!! Never give up even when you feel like it. You are doing this for you and you are so worth the hard work and effort! :)Daisy

hI CLAIRE, an mri is a good diagnostic study to find out what is wrong with

your knee. It dosen't hurt and shows the inside level by level. Once you find

out what the problem is then you should be directed to how to deaL with it.

Request a copy for your self and look up anything you don't know as most

everyone here can tell you they haven't had good experiences with the avg Dr.

This web site and others mentioned here are good reading sources. It won't be

a quick fix tho you have to be persistant and patient to understand fully what

your problem is and all the options to get pain releif.

PLEASE keep in mind though that an MRI will not necessarily always show

what's wrong! I've had them done, showing very little if anything. Finally

convinced the doc to scope my knees and he said they were much worse than

what showed on the MRI> Same thing happened more recently with my shoulder,

which showed a tear in my labrum after the radiologist read the MRI. The doc

disagreed and after over 2 years of pain, not much sleep, and lack of

improvement using conventional methods (PT, rest, meds, etc), he finally

went it and found several bone spurs (big ones too), bursitis (bad enough to

remove the bursa sac), that tear in the labrum he though wasn't a big deal

and he ended up having to repair, and a rotator cuff tear which only my PT

guy thought could also be a problem. The MRI only showed the labral tear.

So, an MRI isn't the tool that shows everything. Just keep that in mind.

Glad to hear it's probably not parasites after all. Sounds like it could be whatever they use in some hair dyes to strip natural colour from hair, prior to adding the new colour. On 5 June 2011 11:37, tsunsushi <tsunsushi@...> wrote:

Seventy years ago.

Weather and rain have undone it again,

And now you would never know

There was once a road through the woods

Before they planted the trees.

It is underneath the coppice and heath,

And the thin anemones.

Only the keeper sees

That, where the ring-dove broods,

And the badgers roll at ease,

There was once a road through the woods.

Yet, if you enter the woods

Of a summer evening late,

When the night-air cools on the trout-ringed pools

Where the otter whistles his mate.

(They fear not men in the woods,

Because they see so few)

You will hear the beat of a horse's feet,

And the swish of a skirt in the dew,

Steadily cantering through

The misty solitudes,

As though they perfectly knew

The old lost road through the woods….

But there is no road through the woods.

I have found lye lotion on my hair helps too. Its just soap, but it acts as a

insecticidal. I cover my entire body with liquid lye lotion when I shower, and

shampoo. Like I found the second shampoo the best. I use coal tar for the

first lather. I found it works for chiggers, poison ivy, and my neighbor said

lice on her children.

Interesting. That was kind of my feeling with wine.

I can remember, almost every meal/rather food bites I had for a several month

period prior to my first treatment, a dialation, about 8 years ago. Something

would work once and I'd keep trying but it didn't ever work that well again. A

few things worked better more often, nachos, with baked cheese, that was almost

crispy. A few times very oddly, salad worked with oily dressing. Chicken

tortilla soup, proably very oily. Some of the Odwalla drinks, and some of the

protein bars.

I don't post often any more, but check in most every day. There is hope, I had

the dialation, which was wonderful. But my symptoms came back after about a

year, then I had an HM. I do still get spasms in spurts, I think mine is a weak

case of vigorous achalasia, but I eat almost everything. Just need a drink of

water to wash things down. No other treatment since my HM about 6 or more years

ago. I almost hate to say how well I'm doing, because so many continue to have

issues. But it is important to know most people leave the group that don't have

continuing issues. I've made many friends here and keep in touch off this site.

They are doing well, for the most part.

I see people posting about heartburn after surgery, my guess is that for most it

is spasms. The doctors don't warn us, but the surgery seems to trigger a series

of spasms, much like the aftershocks of an earthquake. Of course you could be

different! But there are often very strong spasms after surgery that taper off

over a few months to a year.

It is important not to give up hope and to continue to seek treatment to prevent

your esophagus from stretching. If you have treatment and you don't get great

results or go backwards after a few months, go back for more treatment. However

bad it is, it isn't going to get any better! Those I see that had the less

desirable outcomes are those that tried to live with their symptoms until they

got unbearable. Just my opinion. But it is similar as all things in life.

Take care of it before it gets worse.

Happy New Year to all of you!

Sandy in So Cal.

As usual just trying to catch up on my emails!

Well at least now you know these false perceptions only make it worse. I hope

you are doing better and that you have got a date for the Myotomy.

I've gone from my fabulous low of 251 to 258. (sigh) I'm blaming bloat, salt, hormones. Fact is I'm sitting on my rear doing nothing. Well, I was now my garden is in gear and I'm out there daily messing with it. At least I'm perpendicular a couple of hours a day. Better than I have been. I'd wanted to start exercising on the porch but Mother must have gotten that telepathically because she now stays out there in her rocker most of the time. I'm going to hunt down my walking dvds and start doing them in the living room at least three days a week. It's getting hot outside now so I don't want to work out out there anyway. So no more excuses, cut the junk, and get back to it, that's my motto. Oh my new addiction? World Table Bruschetta Rounds. 50 calories per serving so good with Laughing Cow strawberry cream cheese on it. Mmmmm! How is everyone else faring? Getting sunny and warm where you are? How does your garden grow?Love you all! *~*~*~*"This is no longer about what I HOPE to accomplish. Hey everyone, I have been MIA because I have been doing so well. The cruise was

amazing, and I had NO problems eating thank God. It was the best I had eaten in

a while. Everything stayed down, and I wasn't confined to a certain type of food

which made it an enjoyable experience. I even gained some of the weight I lost

when I stopped eating which was great. Since then I have been doing great thank

God. I only had one day last week where it seemed food didnt want to go down as

well. I did a few exercises, breathed and prayed and it opened back up.

Beginning to wonder if stress plays a role or it just makes it worse. Either way

between lots of prayer and relaxation I am back to normal. Eating well is giving

me my energy back so I have resumed my normal activity which is a blessing. I am

grateful to God and pray it continues. I hope everyone else is doing well.

Blessings

I think it's fairly common with our kids. Josiah had normal thyroid readings on

his annual tests until he was about 12 y o. He's been on the same dose....just

a pill in the am since then. (He's 23 now.) Not a big deal because it's easy

to give and not expensive.

Hope you can both get all your medical stuff figured out....and get well soon.
