Guest guest
As someone who's *never* been able to eat large portions, I kind went through the whole of my adult social life (as far as restaurants go) either doggie bagging or doing a LOT of appetizers. Chicken strips are good, one place made a six inch white pizza to die for, each place seems to have one or two specialties that make/made a meal for me. And sometimes, lol!, I'd just go for the desert, period. Especially if the place had a great key lime pie or an excellent cheese cake. . . . You just have to get out of the box, and do what you wish *BECAUSE* that's what you wish to do. Once you get to that place, life is a whole lot easier, all 'round. Other people really don't care, or even much notice if you are comfortable doing what you're doing. This is from a woman who's carried a cup of coffee around cocktail parties for four decades. Nope, not a recovering alcoholic: I just LIKE coffee better than most mixed drinks. If you're happy, your friends are happy. If you're anxious, so are they. xox > > , i wanted to say something that i remembered from several years ago.. i had a friend from college that had had stomach stapling done. Her doctor gave his patients a little card about the size of a credit card (she carried it in her purse) it said, my patient, _name___________, should be allowed to purchase a child size portion because of stomach size she cannot ingest a large portion... signed Shamblin MD _____hosptial , city and state > > i had forgotten about that until you said it. we were somewhere and had ordered and she was allowed to do that, they scaled it down and she didnt over eat,, (except she is back large again now but that was like 30 years ago) i remember her saying that she always was able to do it. the server would take the card to the manager sometimes but they always let her she said.. i had forgotten all about that till just now.. Guest guest
Good point . I have always preferred smaller servings which is why I always went for quality over quantity. So this must have been with me for years and years before becoming obvious! > > > > , i wanted to say something that i remembered from several years ago.. i had a friend from college that had had stomach stapling done. Be creative. Some places just won't do it, but some will if they have what is needed. Sometimes I would just have a shake. Generally I could have eaten a regular meal but sometimes I just wanted a shake. Key lime cheese cake, thats the ticket. Easy to make. Tip: Use lemon cookies with lime zest for the crust. notan
Guest guest
*Wonderful* idea for the crust! Alas, I'm back to low carb, so my cheesecakes are crustless (don't miss 'em much). I do a wonderful lemon one, so I should try a key lime one: the best of all possible worlds, lol! /WV > > > > ... each place seems to have one or two specialties that make/made a > > meal for me.
