Guest guest
I am 1 week post surgery. I had my gall bladder out as well. I feel pretty good. I do seem to burp a lot. I also feel like I have a lump in my throat at times. I am hoping this is my body adjusting. I am tolerating liquids well. At times it seems sluggish but things are going down. I was told a full liquid diet for 5 days and then soft foods. I am a little nervous about starting soft foods so soon! I had a tough time with the air they pump into you for surgery. I still feel a slight discomfort in upper shoulders and collar bone region. I am having spasms too though the getting less frequent and intense. None during the day and I made it through the night last night. Rolled over this morning and that triggered a very mild one. I am hoping all this is normal! Guest guest
Hi, Lynne! Sounds like you're doing just fine! I had shoulder pain for a good two weeks. Was on soft foods in about three days. Take it as slowly as you need to. I still had some small episodes of regurging through the end of the fifth month, but the last three weeks have been *perfect* -- so as my surgeon said: you don't see a lot of improvement from day to day, but progress from week to week. At this point, finally, I'd have to say I'm about where I was seven years ago, before this all started. AT six months out, I've regained all the lost weight (sixty pounds) and am back on low carb, lol! My hair stopped falling out about a month after surgery (end of December, 2011), and is growing in very nicely -- even got a compliment on how good it looked this past weekend! Spasms were an issue up until the regurging started (six years ago), but haven't been since. Haven't had a bout with heartburn for four months. In all? I'm delighted!! Yep, I DO have to remember to eat slow and drink while eating -- of I do those two things, I seem to be able to eat anything I would have before, even sammiches!
