Guest guest
Three and a half months after the Heller, with slow but pretty steady improvement, today at noon, had meatloaf for lunch. Nothing fancy: just three slices of meatloaf. And have been regurging meatloaf for nine hours. Added a couple of things after -- chicken soup, cheese, it's all come back up, too. As has coffee. Not pushing it much, however. This week, for reasons unknown, the big scar at the belly button has been aching -- just enough to remind me that the healing is NOT finished, over and done: that things are still going on inside that I know not wot of. . . . So around six, rather than sit and worry, went up to bed and had a nice long nap with some interesting dreams (and nope, didn't regurge on the pillow. . . . ). At nine thirty, tried again: an avocado with olive oil and adobo. So far it's stayed down, as has the coffee chaser. Perhaps just a gentle reminder from the Universe that I'm never going to be done with the Achalasia, nor it with me? Nope, never going to be *perfect* again. But truth is, though disconcerting, this is still enormously better than before. AND I pretty much know how to cope now. But also clearly a reminder that I need to stay aware, and keep working towards forming new habits (with LOTS of liquids, lots of chewing, and only certain foods, which even then can occasionally turn on you). Just watch that it doesn't turn into a trend, eh? On the positive side, just saw my pharmacist a couple of days ago, who hadn't seen me for six months (just after the ER episode) and she was downright stunned at how well I looked. Came out from behind the counter, sat with me, and asked for a lesson in Achalasia. And thanked me for it! Is also going to research for rapid hair regrowth vitamins/minerals. Lovely community I'm a part of. . . .. xox /WV
