Guest guest Posted April 27, 2012 Report Share Posted April 27, 2012 Hello all, I too am new to this group, have been lurking a bit and have learned so much from everyone. (thank you!) I have been dealing with this for what I thought was about a year but think I have realized the heartburn I had so terribly for years might actually have been spasms from what I have read and that was probably leading up to where I am right now. I was just diagnosed with achalasia about 2 mo ago and the plan for me is HM which is scheduled for May 7th in STL. Of course I am very anxious as I have never had any surgeries in my past but looking forward to getting back to a sort of normal life! Not being able to eat is taking it's toll on me, affecting my blood pressure, causing lightheadedness etec. Do others notice this as well? Is there anyone out there that has had this procedure done in STL? This is so frustrating, some days I feel as though I am falling apart!
