Guest guest
I've been thinking about you Shamira and hoping you are on your way... My Sara is going tomorrow (finally) for the manometry, under sedation, as the pediatric GI was performing the test and stopped after about 10 minutes of her crying. She did read Harrys' tale, so I'll have her read everyone's responses to him again tonight. Doc did finally prescribe nitro, although I haven't tried it yet. Both of her barium swallows said marked achalasia, so I guess the manometry will tell us which type... I've been taking notes: 3 types, but is Taniea's vigorous... is that the same as Type III or is that Type II plus spasms? The first one said marked achalasia and marked gastroesophageal reflux to the mid thoracic level, although the GI said no GERD by endoscopy visually or biopsy. So, I'm assuming the barium just backed up that much just due to the A? Sara also has spasms.... last week like 30 minutes straight of belching and severe pain (how an one belch for 30minutes?burp, breath, burp, breath, so I'm assuming it was the super healthy smoothy I made her). She refused to try anything to help and finally about 2 hours later was better. Funny, the only thing she has truly kept down in the past few weeks, greasy, fatty, like some have said, corned beef hash (I'm just a southern girl). Sara has actually gone to school these past few days (no breakfast and refusing to take lunch because she doesn't want to get sick in front of her friends). I think it is helping with her state of mind... plus she has to pass the 8th grade, she got into the our school of the arts for high school and I can accept no other now. Are there any other singers and has this affected your performance? She has seemed to cough more during singing but I know its about breathing too. So, I'm going to speak with the GI doc tomorrow, and I'm going to take him that print out of Nick's story from Dr Patti's website and see if I can get my records and maybe go a route similar to that... so no family or friends in that area, and I would need to see how long I would need to be in Chicago or Cleveland or wherever... I do have family in Tampa, so I still will contact Dr Rosemurgy... I read on prior posts that Dr Ritcher didn't take children under 18 (although those were older posts). After I get the hard copies of my reports, I'll email the physicians and make a decision... trying to hold off until the end of the school year, but I've read A is not always a good child. Her weight loss is finally stable but only because I'm trying really hard and will let her eat all day and regurg all day if that is what it takes. We have Tricare, which is Humana Military and met our yearly catastrophic cap, so I should be able to go out of network and it should be covered... I wish you many better days to come. Guest guest
Hi Shamira- I meant to post earlier when I read this but time slipped away from me! I have been thinking of you all as well. There aren't a lot of us on here posting on behalf of our kids I hope Taneia is feeling better, or that at least she is closer to getting some relief from all this. And I hope you are doing okay too! I know all too well how you must be feeling. Please keep us posted on how she is doing ( and you too)! Sent from my iPhone On Apr 30, 2012, at 1:20 PM, " shareedanieal@... Guest guest
Ok we got an actual appointment date set for May 22! Hopefully it's the best decision. I am so nervous and worried she won't be able to handle another let down. But we surprise even ourselves. Sent from my Motorola ATRIXâ„¢ 4G on AT & T On our way...I think.
