Subject: Autoimmue Risk

The prevalence of autoimmune disease in patients with esophageal achalasia.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21899655

" Overall, patients with achalasia were 3.6 times more likely to suffer

from any autoimmune condition... "

One thing to note was that the patient group was " on average, 10-15

years older " than the control population. I don't know how much that

would effected the increase in risk comparison.

Oh, it must be so hard for you. I'm so sorry. What do you do about keeping

your diet right for your diabetes and dealing with your swallowing at the same

time?

No diabetes for me, thank God.
