The doctor who did mine had been doing them for 30 years. They said they prefer a radiologist because they have access to fluoroscopy, where I'd be getting real time moving images during the procedure. I also spoke with s Hopkins and the gastroenterologist performs the dilation and he would take individual snapshot xrays to set the balloon. > >
Guest guest
Mine have been done by a gastroenterologist. Cardiac catheterization (angioplasty) is done under fluoroscopy, but you can bet your behind I wouldn't want a radiologist doing mine -- that's a cardio guy's domain! Guest guest
Prolly just *me* but my experience with the barium swallow and the radiologist over and against my experience with the GIs -- I'd go with the radiologist, if he'd done a few. In fact, my GIs don't do dilations -- they send it on down the road. . . . But I had my surgery done at UVA, too. And I couldn't even get the GIs there to even make an appointment in *three weeks*. . . . so if I were having a dilation, I likely wouldn't have been unhappy with the radiologist, lol! xox in WV > > Mine have been done by a gastroenterologist. > > Cardiac catheterization (angioplasty) is done under fluoroscopy, but you can bet your behind I wouldn't want a radiologist doing mine -- that's a cardio guy's domain! > > > > Debbi in Michigan >
