Guest guest
I was curious on what doctor normally performs dilation for achalasia? I had one done at UVA and they use a radiologist. The doctor who did mine had been doing them for 30 years. They said they prefer a radiologist because they have access to fluoroscopy, where I'd be getting real time moving images during the procedure. I also spoke with s Hopkins and the gastroenterologist performs the dilation and he would take individual snapshot xrays to set the balloon.
