Yeh, that would work. I pretty much set my own hours as to when I do lunch and

how long. One of the perks.

Have a good day.

that might work for you.

My food portions were pretty much under sontrol, I just got a little wild with the beans and rice I made for lunch and the diet broccoli salad I made for dinner! I even had adessert a low cal "not mousse" as I call it! I'm feeling pretty good.

, welcome! As for the wondering about Eli as well, I had that question about my youngest for quite awhile but he was much more social than my older daughter who has AS so I let it go as just looking up to his sis etc. Then once he started school, I saw much of the same problems as I did with my daughter (all that was missing was the social problems and honestly, I do not think those show up as much until they get older and the other kids mature and they do not as quickly). I finally (after talking with friends AND alot here) decided to take him in and talk to my daughters doc about him. He was diagnosed a couple of months ago with PDD nos. So I guess it can go either way, we can be "overprotective" and think there is something there when there is not and our mothers instincts can be telling us something we do not want to hear. BTW, my son is 6 (almost 7) and my dd is 13 going on 14 and was just diagnosed a year ago correctly. I guess my advice would differ on his age. How old is Eli? Is he developing "normally" for his age group otherwise, ex. potty training etc? If so, I would probably wait awhile, if not, and he is old enough to do so, I would probably take him in and talk to my other childs doctor re my concerns if it were me. I started calling different docs. to see if we could get him diagnosed. Finally after about 9 mons., in July of this yr., we were told that Z had aspergers. Starting on Mon. Oct.30 we start seeing a psychologist and hopefully things might become a little easier for us. What worries me is that Eli is picking up Z's behavior and I'm not sure if it is just a little brother acting like his big brother or if it is something I should really be worried about. I know it is probably both. I pray everyday and ask God for wisdon and patience. Dee Dee thank you for your kind words and encouragemnt. I was so

happy to find this group and be about to read other peoples stories

and know that I'm not alone. Eli is just turned 2 last mon. and is

doing will as far as we can see. I think his is farther along in

development at this age than his Zachary was. I guess I was just

wanting to see if it was a comman thing for siblings to pick up

abnormal habits of their apsies siblings. Again thank you so much

for the welcoming and the advice.

Thank You,

May the Lord's blessing be upon you!

Thank you for remembering.Lindsey was scheduled this past Thurs. for T & A-lo and

behold!!!She started her fever(which was running about 4 days behind) the night

before her surgery.102.5.MD decided to go ahead with the surgery. The Anesth.

kept it under control but only hovered around 101.5.The surgery was a success

and she has not had ANY fever in 24 hours-Praise God!They have informed me she

might have a low grade temp. 3-4days after surgery. Her tonsils were very

sickly.I did not have the T & A JUST for treating -she had been getting

exudate on them for months. Is it possible that the fevers are GONE FOR

GOOD??Anyone with this experience after tonsillectomy on their

child-please let me know..Blessings to all,Amy B.

,

My son, Isaac, had fevers everyday as well. His started when he was just 3

weeks old. As he got older they became higher until at 1 year old they would

range from 101 - 105.5. Isaac also has other symptoms, however, such as

rash, swelling, pain and joint involvement. He does not have a diagnosis as of

yet. We are being seen and treated at the National Institutes of Health. We

started treatment on him when he turned 2 and he has responded fairly well.

He is listed to have a periodic fever disease with unknown etiology. There

have been other conditions that have been considered and are still watched

for. As this is not exactly related to , you could email me privately of

you want at _kathebarch@..._ (mailto:kathebarch@...) .

Welcome to the Group Candy! Im glad that you are finding the answers you are seeking! I hope your soon to be hubby will join in the group too. Make sure you get copies of everything the doc does and keep it in a file at home so you can refer to it whenever you need to. And of course you can ask us any question you might have and we will try to answer it or point you in the right direction to get an answer! Your man is lucky to have you and to know that you are interested enough to learn about his disease.. many significant others run away when someone is diagnosed with this disease... Remember it is only spread by direct blood to blood contact,, so stay away from his toothbrush ( yuk anyway, lol) nail clippers, razor or anything that might contain occult blood on it.. other wise you have practically nothing to worry about as far as your getting it too.. jax moderatorCandy

Hi, ...I'm sorry about your daughter's dental problems. My

father-in-law is a pedodontist (children's dentist), and we've discussed the

periodic fever/poor teeth issue in great detail. What he has explainted to

me is this: if the enamel on baby teeth is too thin (I think he called it

" hypoplastic teeth " ), it is probably due to damage that occurred prior their

eruption. My sister-in-law is a prime example; she got very sick during her

pregnancy and ran a high fever for 4 days. My nephew is now 4 years old and

has had to have 2 crowns/1 cavity filled so far because his enamal was

damaged in utero. I kind of wondered what all the fuss was about with baby

teeth, but my father-in-law says they are extremely important if you want

the adult teeth to come in properly and be healthy. (It would also be

important to make sure your daughter's dental problems are not causing her

any discomfort; if those teeth with thin enamel are too sensitive, she'll

not want to chew foods using those teeth. That can cause her problems with

proper digestion if her food's not chewed thoroughly.)

My son has a periodic fever, but his baby teeth are great. My father-in-law

says that's because those teeth were formed prior to the development of this

condition. He thinks that all of the fevering my son has endured will

probably mean a lot of problems with the permanent teeth, but there is no

way to know until they erupt. Ben sees his grandpa for regular check-ups,

and he's recommending that we seal his permanent teeth when they come in.

Blah, blah, blah...I hope this was helpful. I guess what this all depends

upon is your comfort level with your daughter's pedo. If you trust him, do

the crown. If you're uneasy, get a second opinion. One thing I would be

concerned about is waiting to do the procedure. If her pedo says this needs

to be done now, he may be concerned that her teeth will only become more

damaged and may necessitate more work, like root canals or cavities/crowns

on adjacent teeth. Teeth are always vulnerable to bacteria and decay, but

that is particularly the case when the enamel is thin or the dentin is

exposed.

Kate, Mom to Ben, 3 yrs old (diagnosed ; possible HIDS)

Welcome, I am new to this particular group. I have been dealing with Hep c for quite a while now. Many people that I "work with" have the virus. I am currently on Peg and Copeg combo therapy. So far I am holding my own. I started antidepressants before treatment and I do take some meds for "hyperness". Some call it Ribo-rage and say it is from the Copeg (Ribovirin) pills that you take every day. My doc says it is from the interferon shot itself. Who knows? All I know is that so far I am blessed that I am still working full time and homeschooling my son, keeping most of my church and community commitments. I have had a few "spells". I am usually better in 24 hours with some extra rest. Of course I have some of the side effects everyone talks about. But so far I look at it as just that, side effects. So far my blood counts are fairly good. I try to get enough rest and put one foot in front of the other. I am about half way through treatment. I am

genotype 1 so I am a 48 weeker for the meds. So far my virus is undetectable, just hope I have the SVR (sustained viral response), in other words it does not reoccur after completing treatment. There is a lot of info on the net, some good some bad. Everyone seems to have a different story and some people's livers are more damaged than others. I personally recommend a combination of the medical community treatment and some holistic things to take care of general wellbeing for lifetime, and prayer by as many people as you can possibly touch to bring the power of healing to your husband. Good luck, do not be scared, be prepared and get educated on what options there are for him and then see what is best. And live your life to the fullest each day. None of us knows when God will call us home. :) MelCandy <motomommaut@...> wrote: I wanted to say thank you for letting me join your group. Oprah doesn’t come

on here until 5pm. With this news, I guess I will watch it, after all. I wasn’t

planning to watch it as I was hoping to retain my shreds of sanity. Great news

about – Oprah, SafeMinds, NAA. I really needed some good news today. Wow, I thought I had a

dysfunctional family.
