Guest guest
Thank you . I never purchased from them but now I will reconsider. Sorry the heater had to be recalled. But came a good lesson from it:) Murray <jmurray2@...> wrote: Do any of you ever buy things from QVC? I have purchased numerous things from them over the years and especially at Christmas time - this year being no exception. Anyways, I bought a Holmes Ceramic Oscillating Heater for my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas because they go out on their enclosed front porch to smoke so that they don't smoke around their baby. Well, it gets pretty cold out there since it's not a heated porch so I thought this would be a great gift. They love it and it works really well. Yesterday after I got home from shopping I had 2 urgent messages on my phone from QVC stating that they just got word that the heater I bought was being re-called by the manufacturer as a possible fire hazard and to stop using it right away!! (just add this to the list of other problems I've had this week) QVC said that they would be sending me a letter explaining how to check for the Lot# and what to do if I had one of the defective heaters. So of course I called my daughter & told her to unplug it and stop using it until I hear from QVC again. I got to thinking how great that it was that QVC did that. If I had purchased that heater at WalMart or Lowe's or another store I would never even know about the fire hazard problem. Yup, I know that eventually it gets on the TV News or in the newspaper but that doesn't mean that I would have been listening to the news or seen it in the paper and it probably doesn't even get to the media for months after the recall. So I just wanted to mention that to all of you who may be sceptical about ever purchasing from QVC. I think they're great!! ( who will again stop rambling)
Guest guest
> Do any of you ever buy things from QVC? Sorry to hear about the heater . I don't buy from QVC, but have to say I am impressed with them too. A few years ago I got a call from QVC asking me to confirm the $2000 computer I ordered from them with my credit card. Somehow, someone had got my American Express credit card info & ordered this computer from QVC and was having it shipped to FL. The QVC people were very nice. They said that I had never purchased from them before, then having it shipped to an address that was not my billing address raised a red flag. Needless to say that whoever did this also bought Dominoes pizza in FL, and something at some store in Ithaca, NY. Filed a police report & never had to pay a dime. Thank goodness! And I explained to her about eating small amounts raising head of bed and pointed her towards this site. Just wondered if anyone else has fam with similar trouble. Also my son has some trouble swallowing he pushes w air. I remember doing that for YEARS and just thinking it was normal. Idk. Not borrowing trouble but y'all please let me know about any relatives with similar difficulties? Guest guest
Hi Kim,  Some doctors think there could be a genetic link to achalasia....but they just don't know for sure exactly....it's still a mystery. Of my closest family members and children, so far none have this condition. As for relatives...they live far away in another country and I just don't know. Am curious though.  Julee ( from Oregon) ________________________________ From: Kim <kimellenbailey@...> " achalasia " <achalasia > Sent: Monday, June 4, 2012 9:40 AM Subject: New subject  Do any of y'all have family that also have esophageal problems?
