Guest guest
G Sounds like a was a good day all around for you. Now that you know that the baby will stay with other people, you should do it more often so she'll get used to it. It will be good for "Mom", also. So what was this guy doing staring at your display for 10 minutes? Stealing ideas or what? Or was he just a stalker? You never know with scents what people are going to veer towards. I thought the fruity scents were the "big" thing this year just by looking in the stores and seeing what the industry was displaying. Go figure!! M success! Success isn't always measured in dollars!! We had the show down in Liverpool today, and, unfortunately we didn't make out as well as we had hoped money-wise. We made something like only $100, BUT! we did meet a lot of nice new people, including a gal who does some tole painting and this was her first show. We did a swappie for some stuff. I also saw an elder women who I had met at the Westhill show while visiting Colleen who traded me some things for one of her books for babies.Of course, I got to see a lot of Colleen, who was solo for the day -- so I went over and checked on her a lot to see if she needed breaks. and lovely Terri came to annoy us <VBG> as well. That, however, wasn't the cool part. What WAS, though, was the fact that Baby Bridget spent her first day with someone other than me or ! She stayed the whole day with my friend Colleen (not OUR Colleen, obviously, since she was at the Liverpool show, too) and was purported to be a joy. I was SO thrilled!! I honestly thought (and so did Coll) that we would be seeing Buggie right around 1:30.anyway...weirdest thing. I guess it takes all kinds...BUT! Mom and I were running the table and talking to people and this guy comes up and just starts staring at our stuff. Mom talks to him and asks if he'd like to smell some of our testers....and he kinda gives her a curt "no"...but then stands there and intently analyzes our whole display for the next 10 minutes. Yeah, Mom and I put together a mean display...worship us! LOL. Oh, yeah, and then there was the biker guy...LOLWe're trying some new things: men's cologne along with some guy scents. They were met with just an "ok". Coll, I couldn't talk your husband into trying one! He said he was rather bound to you now LOL We actually introduced part of the baby line publically at the show and had a good response. Bridget's Blend in both soap and lotion kicked butt. Of course, lavender did well. So did our Orchard Herbal. Strangely, though (or maybe not so strange), our buying public seems to be leaning towards patchouli and earthy fragrances lately. What has everyone else been finding?Ona down note, I think my fall from Leesa on Wednesday night must have done some serious torque-age to my neck. it hurts like the dickens tonight, and I'm rather wishing someone would just do like MarieAntoinette and be off with my head!Must scoot! Bridget is being a maniac again...and with gone fpor the next week,I have my hands full!GOur members maphttp://.homestead.com/locations.htmlOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Special Invite for membershttp://soapwerks.com/martinrectangle.htmAll posts to this list are copyrighted by post author. Guest guest
You bet the time away will do me good! For 10 months I have had exactly 2 days off. I love Bridget...but she is exhausting! LOL about the stalker! Jeez, if he was a stalker, he should look like...Ed , or Brad Pitt...or Mel Gibson or something! LOL Honestly, I think he was scoping our stuff. LOL At least he could have been either a) more secretive; or just not so blatantly silly- looking! if *I* had been scoping someone's stuff, I would have been right in there, just like a customer. I know; I've done it before. LOL But, it was very slow there yesterday -- and I heard that from a regular at this show. Disappointing. At least I now have product for the shop in Sackets Harbor, which seems to be doing a decent turn- over. And....no more show until fall (I think!) maryG > G > > Sounds like a was a good day all around for you. Guest guest
Jim: FANTASTIC !!! Well that is good news:) You are now an official kombuchite;) LOL The taste you describe sounds about right, Actually from this point on, the brew for you is the one that your taste buds are happiest with. Some like it on the sweet side, while some prefer the tart. I personally prefer one that kind of teases back and forth not sweet but not tart. But I am glad that you are happy about it. Congratulations:) Luv, Sprite " When you drink the water, remember the spring. Guest guest
I wanted to try this liver with the recipe first to make sure it would work, since what I had eaten in Germany was calves liver. The liver was terrific - a little stronger than the calves liver, but still great. Liver with Fruit Season liver with sea salt and pepper Sear quickly in butter (clarified is best but melted but is ok). The liver should still be rare. Meanwhile take slices of fruit - I used peaches, but mango or apple would work, too - and saute in butter either in a separate skillet or the same one as the liver if there is room. Remove liver and fruit to serving platter, and deglaze pan with chicken broth. Reduce slightly and add some balsamic vinegar. Pour sauce over fruit and liver. It is best to eat a small pice of fruit with each piece of liver (at least that is how I do it) so make sure there is plenty of fruit. --- Will Winter <holistic@...> wrote: > Liver was all gone by 11 am, which was the main > goal. Guest guest
We just finished eating our liver. mmmMMMM MMMmmm GOOD. Will, the FRESH liver really is terrific, and Sara, we used your recipe with fruit. I did the liver in a combination of coconut oil and butter, and added mango to a little straight butter at the side of the pan just as I was turning the liver to its second side. So the mango didn't really cook, just warmed up with butter. We liked it all so much that we really pigged out and ate more than usual! ;o) Jan

Guest guest
Thanks Kris. It was sooooo fun to see her so excited about something, and for her to notice she wasnt even worried about it! Hopefully this will help her transition into kindergarten better, now she will at least be comfortable with the bus. <sigh of relief> :0) Sharon Re: success! YAY for Abby!! Guest guest
Thanks. So do I. We held her back from Kindergarten this year, had a hard time deciding LAST minute, but she was having SO much anxiety it just wasn't her time to go to school. I went to a parent info meeting last night for kids going to K this coming fall and saw the teacher she would have had if she went this year. She was so nice, asked how Abby was doing, asked if we felt we made the right decision, was glad to hear things are going well with her at preschool, etc. It was nice to know that she remembered, and she actually teared up when I told her how well things are going for Abby right now. I REALLY hope she gets her for K when she does go. Of course, to Abby, that IS her K teacher - period. Sharon Re: success! In a message dated 1/29/2007 7:02:49 P.M. Guest guest
Sharon, My daughter Lindsey is 6 and in first grade this year. She is alot like Abby. When my daughter overcomes a fear or tries something " big " on her own (like riding the bus), I always make a picture of it (or find one on the internet as I can't draw! - I laminate it and make it into a magnet. I put it on the refrigerator. I display all of the things she was afraid of that she overcame, or all of the neat " new " things she can do. I tell her to keep doing new things because I LOVE magnets and think she is making my fridge so pretty! Then we look at the pictures and talk about how super she is doing. I think it really helps her to " see " them displayed -- gives her a sense of confidence to try and conquer new things. Congrats to you and Abby! " autumn71A@... Hi , it only has to be a scrap of a thing, but the extra acidic kt liquid is the most important. Like the scoby bit, the liquid is also full of microflora of bacteria and yeast. I suggest you pass on whatever scoby you can spare with a cup of KT liquid and tell your friend that it is wise to make a smaller batch first time, maybe 2 quarts/litres. It should work well.
