Emotionally or poke your finger in your eye, or both? Some of us have complained about " dry eyes " but that is different from not being able to cry. With dry eyes the eyes often become irritated and begin to water making you look like you are crying. This kind of dry eye can be a symptom of CREST syndrome (a variant of scleroderma) which can also cause a secondary type of pseudo achalasia. Sojourn syndrome can also cause dry eyes and difficulty swallowing which may seem like achalasia. Sojourn syndrome can also leave you " not being able to cry " as in not able to produce tears.
