...I call them attacks (because when it happens its like being pinned by I DUNNO

an elephant!) but I see you guys are calling them spasms so I will go with that

...

just wondering what people do if anything to get the spasm to stop?

This is what works for me.. I always try to have something to drink with me - no

matter cause when it (LES) starts to cramp up er whatever I gotta try and stop

it from a full on spasm cause that freakin hurts.. if that doesnt quell the

angry elephant comin at me all prison-style then I run for the cereal :-D a

small handful of dry cereal.. like fruit loops or captain crunch.. basically

anything to 'remind' my LES of wha its supposed to be doing instead of its

gymnastics ..usually that works if I catch it in time but sometimes then if not

I hafta down lots (and lots) of warm water (sometimes cold water if the

pain/pressure progresses and Im breakin out in a sweat LOL) and or coffee

(ghetto latte: milk, instant coffee and lotsa sugar which makes for a good lube)

if the spasm continues more then 20 or so minutes Im ready to actually puke (not

regurgitate) which also gives relief by tellin that LES to do its job and seems

to aid in putting everything back in its place *after being turned inside out

the worst for me is bread and say.. steak that get stuck.. my esophogus seems to

open nicely for fresh juice. I have had 2 endoscopys at UCSF ..now just

procrastinating goin back in cause.. hohum.. lookin at my gucci its about that

time for anotha one BOO I gain hella weight after cause the body thinks I was

starving ..got down to 90 but now at an ok weight for me 110 my diet is mostly

protein fat ....sugar oi anyways nice to see you all.. cant do junior mints..

burn my sphincter BUT definatly no stranger 2 chocolate!!

:0)

silk

ps still dont know how or why I have this but would like to *before taking any

medicine for it
