Guest guest
To the Group, I have just learned of Vitamin " O " through a half page newspaper ad in the Charlottesville paper, plus I have recently seen an article or two in a technical medicine newsletter. Sounds like it may be effective. Does anyone have any knowledge which you would share. Thanks

Guest guest
Hey Lynda! Terri & I both use Bittercreek for our lotion and body spray bases. They are pretty good & the price is right. Plus, as an added benefit for me, they don't have lanolin. I am highly allergic to it. I've never tried any of their fo's though. Nashville Wraps is where I get most of my packaging supplies. It's very easy to meet that $50 minimum! I'm lucky cause I take care of the bill paying & UPS arrives during the week when isn't here. If I can get the stuff stashed or get rid of the boxes before he gets home, he doesn't know I got anything new! Hehehe! Of course, I usually make him smell the new stuff so that never works. Besides, he doesn't care. It makes me happy when I get new stuff in. I'm on an ordering spree right now! Just ask Terri. She's gotta hate me when I get in these buying moods. She lives really close so I always contact her when I'm ordering. That way we save on shipping. Colleen Country Meadow Creations

Guest guest
oops, I meant to write amino acid treatments in SMA -- so if you have some experience regarding this, I'd love to hear it and get some more information... Radmy
Guest guest
Radmy, We have Taleah on the Amino Acid diet and believe it has helped her quite a bit. It's quite controversial right now, some people swear by it and others haven't noticed any benefits at all. It seems that the more affected the individual the more likely they are to notice benefits. For Taleah we noticed strength increases very quickly. Other parents have noticed a decrease in night sweats, flushing and a thinning of secretions. You can read what one parent (also a nurse) has written on the subject at www.our-sma-angels.com and clicking on the link to Hannah's website. BTW, Hannah's pictures haven't been updated in a long time. She's now a precocious little girl of five years old, no trach and doing fantastic in spite of having type 1 SMA. I guess that's it for now. Guest guest
Thank you . I also wanted to ask has anyone heard of this Russian physician Khokhlov and his amino acid treatments in various diseases, mostly brain damages like Celebral Palsy and other, but neuromuscular diseases as well? His amino acid treatment courses are apparently very succesful, according to lots of articles of his patients that I've read - I've done lots of research on the web about him and his treatments, but couldn't find his e-mail address so far... If you know something about this doctor, please let me know... Best wishes, Radmy

Guest guest
How old's your daughter? Would she be big enough to hold / swish a mouthfull of Colloidal Silver? I've found it quite effective for treating Thrush. Swallowing it would probably help anyway, but I'm not sure of the dose. ~ Jowanna. > I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what you can > do for mouth thrush. Guest guest
I wondered about colloidal silver. She is 23 months old. Last night I also noticed that my 9 mth old also has it. They are bad to share the same spoon. Thanks, Kelsey Re: information > How old's your daughter? Would she be big enough to hold / swish a > mouthfull of Colloidal Silver? Guest guest
Are you still breastfeeding either or both of them, Kelsey? If so, do you have any nipple thrush symptoms? It's common for it to pass backwards and forwards between breastfeeding babes/toddlers and mums. I do agree with Sheri though that it's a sign of immune system depression in some way, otherwise the fungus would be kept in check by the beneficial bacteria in the mouth and digestive tract. Does your toddler eat a very sugary diet? Lots of bread? What was in the OTC medicine, btw? Guest guest
Yes, I am breastfeeding the 9mth old, but no signs of nipple thrush. I try not to give them much sugar, but with summer coming on it seems as though everytime you turn around someone is passing out candy etc. She was drinking a good bit of apple juice, but I've cut that out. She eats a good bit of bread. I am trying to back away from white bread. The baby hasn't had any medicine, I just breastfeed more often, and the 22 mth has only had a very small amount of rubitussin DM. " Very small " Thanks, Kelsey Re: Re: information > § > § > § > It is an indication of a deeper problem. > § > Have they had antibiotics lately? > § > Vaccines? > § > > § > This is not a normal thing to see in a child unless there is > § some immune > § > system problem > § > Sheri > § > > § > At 10:16 AM 04/09/2004 -0500, you wrote: > § > >I wondered about colloidal silver. Guest guest
First of all, she should check with her OB/GYN before doing anything. I know that when you're pregnant you're not supposed to get your heart rate over something like 160 bpm - could be lower - again she needs to check with her physician. If she's never lifted weights before, she definitely should not start now. As far as eating goes, I think she'll have to wing it and see if she gets any sickness or not. I didn't when I was pregnant, either time, so I don't have any experience with that. Eating BFL style I don't think will hurt her at all, but she may need to up her calories. You should not be losing weight while pregnant. I don't see a problem with not gaining any, especially if she starts eating better and is walking or doing some moderate cardio regularly - again she needs to discuss all of this with her physician. There are a number of different types of exercising that she can do. I did a pre-natal water aerobics class, which was great because the water took the pressure of the weight of the baby off of the bladder and everything else in there. I also did a workout video, but I forget who it was by. Kegels are very good to strengthen the lower pelvic floor - those are when you tighten those muscles that you use to stop your flow of urine. Those are the major pushing muscles and the more she works those out the better! Hope that helps! in WI Information > I have been doing BFL for almost 1 year. Guest guest
She should first talk to her dr. if she wasn't working out before she was pregnant. And also find out what he recommends as far as calories, etc. I would stick to whole foods, also. It might be better if her goal is not to lose weight, but control how much she gains. monica Information I have been doing BFL for almost 1 year. I have recently started working out with a friend who recently found out she was pregnant. I don't have any information for her as far as, should she lose weight (she is probably 20 lbs over weight now), what can she and can't she do as far as weight lifting (she has not been doing any weight lifting only cardio), should she stick to whole foods or can she still use mrb's. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to all, Brett in Idaho ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
