Guest guest
Hi all, I'm going to Mayo (Rochester) next week for the 30mm pneumatic dilation (that's all they do). It is my only choice these days. Can anyone give me some positive feedback on potential for lasting given a 21 year post HM and age over 50? I am in need of some support from fellow As. Thanks, Faith
Guest guest
Hi Faith, I had my balloon dilation in 1998 (I believe it was also 30 mm), and it lasted 13 years. I'm curious, though, as to why your physicians told you it was your " only choice. " (I was told the opposite, as I initially wanted to try a repeat dilation!) -- > > Hi all, > > I'm going to Mayo (Rochester) next week for the 30mm pneumatic dilation (that's all they do). Guest guest
Hi , I'm apparently too high a risk for repeat HM. So, all That is left is dialation or echt. I don't want the latter. 13 years sounds positive! Thanks. Guest guest
I had my first dilation in late 1996 and my second dilation in mid-1998. I have not had the HM surgery. I am currently 43yo. I still have issues with the lack of peristalsis in the body of my esophagus, but my LES is still allowing stuff to pass.
