Guest guest
, I have a friend who has serious brain injury and dysfunction. This person has serious dysautonomia where they have severe difficulty with balance and alot of Automonic Nervous System abnormalities, which seem to stem from the brain injury/dysfunction. This person was greatly helped by using regular oxygen with a " re- breather mask. " But, at first she had some side effects, please go to the URL below and follow the links I'll give you. These 2 articles explain Dr. Cheney's use of oxygen therapy, specifics about best diagnosis(for headaches) to get insurance to pay in his experience, and also some side effects you can experience at the beginning and how to diminish them in different ways. It's a very educational website-our own Carol S. from this list is very involved with this site and the Dallas/Ft. Worth CFIDS/FM group that's 1100+ people by now that's connected to this site. Thanks Carol S.!! They have close ties to Dr. Cheney and his treatment and research, so it's a great site to bookmark to see anything new they post there. It also has a hewsletter(quarterly, I think)that gives the latest news and research, treatments, etc. in a more informal formatt. Here's the site: www.virtualhometown.com/dfwcfids Click on the box/link that says " Dr. Cheney's treatments " . Then you'll see a listing of topics of Dr. Cheney's info. to choose from. Click on " Dr. Cheney's Basic Tx. Plan. " Then click on " Prescriptions " and scroll down to " Oxygen Therapy " . This has alot of good info. about how he uses it with his patients. At the end of the Oxygen Therapy section, it will have a link for more info., see " appendix. " Click on " appendix " link and this will take you to a more detailed explanation of Dr. Cheney's use of oxygen therapy and why he uses it and the initial negative side effects some people have and some ways to help avoid/diminish them. There are also articles on " denatured whey " (Immunocal/Immunepro) and many other things. Hope this helps you. Good luck-hope your health improves! I am also going to test for blood alkalinity and urine pH and see if my blood is too alkaline. Per a recent SPECT scan, I know I have overall low blood flow to the brain, gets worse with any kind of concentration, so I'm looking into how best to get more O2 to brain and all other parts of my body. Let us know if you get positive benefits if you decide to use oxygen therapy. I'd love to know more about others experiences as well. Good luck! LK > Is anyone using this for an increase in oxygen levels to the brain? I am > trying to learn about this now. Does it work? Are you having positive or > negative effects? What is the difference between the rebreather mask and the > HBOT treatments?
