Guest guest
Hello everybody - My name's A.V. Varghese. Friends call me Avy. I'd been in journalism for around 20 years and still do some freelancing. I shifted to education in the art and design domain with the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore in 1999. It has been a fruitful stint. Srishti ran a powerful workshop called Sunoh recently which focussed on HIV-AIDS. The workshop was part of an ongoing project/lab called Communication for Change (C4C) in collaboration with the IIT Kanpur and the MIT Media Lab Asia. The objective was to project the fact that Communication is the FIRST MILE and not the last as is usually assumed in bringing about social change with regard to approach to and attitudes to HIV-AIDS. The project is also about bringing together people from diverse domains of expertise/disciplines, socio cultural platforms to work horizontally and multi-disciplinary to generate solutions to the social problem at hand. Sunoh was a success but Srishti is in the process of taking the project further. Sunoh is a continuing program that seeks to effectively integrate technology and mass communication within communities whose members have opinions to voice about the path of development. As a project for social change, Srishti invites you to join the process and contribute in your own way by adding to our growing archive on issues relating to Communication for Change. So do get in touch. Avy E-mail:<avygravy@...> _________________________
