Guest guest
Sandy- or anyone Any idea how much Mag Cheny says to use? Or how much in general, ie w.out Cheny? For now shots are not an option for me. Thanks, Adrienne
Guest guest
Hi Adrienne and Everyone, Regarding how much magnesium glycinate Dr. Cheney recommends, I found the answer in info I had printed a while back from Carol Sieverling's support group website at " virtualhometown.com/dfwcfids. " He suggests 200 to 500mg a day of mag gly. unless you experience diarrhea, then adjust dosage as needed. (Thanks, Carol, and your group for all the helpful info.) I do believe the brand makes a big difference. As I mentioned in my last post, I have been taking 800mg which some MD/Nutritionists recommend but I just received my order from SunRay which claims to use Dr. Cheney recommended products. Just this week I began taking Pure Encapsulations mag gly and I'm going to cut back to 500mg and see how it goes. Another symptom of deficient magnesium that I get is twitching muscles, especially my eyelid. I mentioned the book, STAYING HEALTHY WITH NUTRITION, in my last post. In that book, Dr. Haas states that " calcium and magnesium are both alkaline minerals, so they are not taken with or after meals, as they can reduce stomach acid as well as be absorbed poorly when taken with food.... take them on an empty stomach between meals. " I've read this same recommendation in many other articles and books. I've also read that taking them at bedtime with vitamin D can help with sleep. If you are interested in any treatment discussed here, please consult your doctor.
