I'm glad to announce the following job opportunities at Population Services

International (PSI) in Mumbai:

PSI is a non-profit social marketing organization active all over India. It

is PSI's declared mission to empower low income people to lead healthy lives

through the informed use of health products and services, made accessible

and affordable to them by the subsidized application of communication and

marketing resources and techniques.

Here in Mumbai, we have been involved with HIV/AIDS prevention for 12 years

now. Made possible through the Elton AIDS Foundation (EJAF), the new

PSI Helpline will be a high quality service targeting both youth and the

general public. We are looking forward to hiring a dynamic and commited team of

TELEPHONIC COUNSELORS.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Answer calls regarding sexual health and HIV/AIDS related issues, give

information and sensitively counsel on the phone.

Record and document calls, keep track on referrals, ensure and control

quality of calls.

This position is Mumbai based and the helpline will be operated from our

office in Opera House. Interviews to start Monday, Sept 16th 2002, followed

by training in October 2002.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

MA Psychology/MSW minimum, further counseling training of advantage,

counseling experience one year minimum, HIV/AIDS related experience would be

an advantage. Ability to counsel sensitively and confidentially, good

communication skills a must. Fluency in English, Hindi, Marathi. Additional

language proficiencies of advantage.
