Guest guest
Hi ! You raise some good questions. While the press release does not state the actual amount that is in each vaccine, it does say, " Chairman Burton Requests Vaccine Recall " On July 18, 2000 the Committee conducted a hearing entitled, “Mercury in Medicine: Are We Taking Unnecessary Risks?” DURING THE HEARING, THE FDA ADMITTED THAT CHILDREN ARE BEING EXPOSED TO UNSAFE LEVELS OF MERCURY THROUGH VACCINES CONTAINING THIMEROSAL. " [emphasis mine] The article goes on to say, " the FDA states, ‘lead, cadmium, and mercury are examples of elements that are TOXIC WHEN PRESENT AT RELATIVELY LOW LEVELS'... " [emphasis mine] Why are they even issuing vaccines that contain Thimerosal when " Thimerosal-free vaccines are available " ? Why are they putting even one child at risk (never mind 8,000)? If the amount of mercury used in each vaccine is of interest to you, you may want to do further investigation in this matter. For me this is a non-issue, because my confidence in government and vaccines (and allopathic medicine, in general) eroded a long time ago. In my view, any amount of mercury is too much--especially for little babies. There are some people with ME/FM who are on detox programs to try to get rid of mercury, so any amount is too much. (Do you have any idea how much alternative medicine costs? Many are going to great expense to get their amalgam fillings removed. When we go on these programs most of us try our best to be complaint.) As an aside, if my memory serves me correctly, it seems to me that even Dr. Garth Nicolson is recommending detox for heavy metals for patients with chronic syndromes. I think that this is an issue that each person should investigate for themselves. Kind regards, Trudy Message: 5 Date: Sun, 29 Oct 2000 00:46:02 -0000 From: robertc@... Subject: Thimerosal - Overstated Mercury Risk from a few vaccines? How much mercury is in each vaccine? How does it compare for example to the amount that was in contact solutions which people stuck in their eyes for decades? Preservatives for solutions usually are in the range of two to three digits below one percent of ingredients depending on their use. If one sticks two gallons of thimerosal preserved solutions in one's eyes, how does that compare to getting 10 cc's of vaccine solutions or a few fillings? What quantities are we talking about before raising alarms? Referrals to press releases and petitions doesn't help without some specific information/education. What are the numbers just to start with of how much mercury is in a typical dose of a vaccine or how much in a couple gallons of contact solution (instead of this completely uncorrelated speculation of because there's more people sick with X, then Y could be responsible because there's more of activity Z occuring).
