Guest guest
The François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Center at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and the University of California San Francisco’s Center for HIV Information are pleased to announce the official launch of the “Women, Children, and HIV” Web site (http://WomenChildrenHIV.org) “Women, Children, and HIV” contains a comprehensive, Internet-based library of practically applicable materials on mother and child HIV infection including preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission (PMTCT), infant feeding, clinical care of women and children living with HIV infection, and the support of orphans. With the launch of this site, crucial information about these rapidly changing and complex fields is now available in one site. The goal of “Women, Children, and HIV” is to enhance existing HIV/AIDS prevention and care efforts by improving the availability of key materials. The site communicates the latest developments in the field, reports relevant findings from conferences and meetings, and provides access to new curricula, guidelines, community education tools, and policy documents to organizations on the frontline of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. An international board of expert clinicians, researchers, and educators works with the project leadership to ensure that the material on the site is of the highest quality and relevance to the field. “Women, Children, and HIV” is collaboration between the François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Center and the Center for HIV Information at UCSF (CHI). The FXB Center is internationally recognized for its training and technical assistance programs in PMTCT, pediatric, and family issues in HIV/AIDS (http://www.fxbcenter.org). CHI develops and disseminates materials of international relevance on HIV care, prevention, and policy through innovative technologies. Its projects include HIV InSite (http://hivinsite.ucsf.edu), one of the Internet’s most comprehensive and respected resources on HIV/AIDS.
