I've been craving tonic water with quinine just recently..... could this be a

clue for me? Your thoughts are appreciated. MJH

One thought that comes to mind on why Plaquenil may be helping is that a

protozoan, not a mycoplasma, chlamydia, or rickettsia, may be causing some

of the symptoms it is relieving. This drug is typically prescribed for

malaria, which is a protozoan. Another protozoan that could be involved is

called Babesia, a tick-borne microbe. It is not uncommon for Bebesia and

well as another tick-borne microbe called Ehrlichia, to accompany Lyme's

(Borellia). Although Plaquenil is not mentioned as one of the first line

treatments for Bebesia, it may still be killing the critters since both

Malaria and Bebesia are both protozoans. Just a thought.

| Now I'm interested! My father was beset by a lot of chronic illnesses

| when I was a kid. I didn't pay much attention but heard him refer to

| them as fevers. He took quinine for it and it helped he reported.

Thanks, I almost wrote this post myself. Thanks for doing it for me!

Igenex labs tests for Babesia microta (sp?). The ususal drugs for

treating it sound horrible and dangerous. I have not had the babesiosis

test.
