Guest guest
Hi Beck! Thank you so much for sharing this with me. For the past few years I have been able to recover from ear infections and bronchitis with my herbal remedies. (In fact, even my family and friends have been impressed with my quick recoveries. I can usually get over one of these infections, with my herbals, in just five days. Previously, I would have to wait five days just to " prove " to the doctor that I had the infection. I always know immediately when I get an infection, but it seems to take a number of days before a doctor can determine that I have the infection. And previously it would take me several weeks to get over these infections, once they had set in, with antibiotics.) However, this current episode was much more severe than my previous episodes and my herbal remedies didn't touch it. I had a lot of pain and lost my hearing (this not uncommon for me; however, I usually will get it back a few days later). But this time, my hearing was not coming back and I didn't want to go deaf because of not wanting to see an allopathic doctor. ...I try to be reasonable about this. I am trying, once again, to get my medical records from a doctor. I am having to go through the same nonsense that I have experienced with other doctors. The doctors assure me that they are giving me my complete file, and yet when I go over my file I find that I am really only given a portion of my records. ...I find being lied to very stressful. In fact, when I had to go and get my records the second time, the girl told me that she didn't know why the doctor didn't give them all to me the first time. She had knowingly lied to me the first time when she assured me I was receiving the entire contents of my medical records. I was furious that she knowingly lied to my face. ....it takes so much energy for me to go down to pick up my file in the first place. ...and to then have to make repeated trips when I should have be given them all the first time is really upsetting. (While some people are fighting insurance companies, I have to contend with the very people who should be helping me--doctors. ...unbelievable!) Anyway, I think that it was this stressful situation that has caused this latest ear infection. In fact, when I had to go back a second time, and the secretary admitted lying to me, I actually had to increase my cortisol. ...that was how much it effected me. (Previously, I have had these same type of infections when I have had trouble in collecting my medical records.) I'm sorry to hear that you have had to have so much pain and a hearing loss. ...this is why I am so concerned about this problem. There definitely has to be something else that is triggering all of these infections. Unfortunately, I do not have a supportive doctor at this point. (...a person can always hope that this might change in the future--but I'm not holding my breath! ;-) LOL I really appreciate your coming forward and sharing this with me, Beck. I hope that you and your doctor will be able to find a solution to your ear problems. I was in a very isolated area of TX and unable to get to a doc. Had antibiotics with me, took them, then more antibiotics, then amantadine. Finally, back in civilization the Ear Doc confirmed that I had lost a lot of my hearing and probably wouldn't getit back. My hearing has come and gone over the last 6 months. Sometimes there is a lot of pain. Saw an Otologist today who diagnosed Minuere's (sp?) disease and put me on 1000mg of Famvir a day. Told me the current thinking is that it is HHV-6. I told him about Viracor and he is setting up to have a PCR run. Plus, he thinks that allergies play a large part in all this and does allergy testing and shots in connex. At least, he's interested. Guest guest
Iam told that Famvir does not do anything for the HHV6 viirus. Carole
Guest guest
I ain't no HHV-6 expert. But I thought I'd mention that I believe only Gancyclovir and Forcaneset are judged as effective against HHV-6 as far as anti-virals go. I forget where I read this - it might have been at the Viracor site under Drugs. But Goldberg first tried Valtrex on me, for only a month, and wanted to resort to Famvir; this was a couple of years ago, and we hadn't ID-ed HHV-6 or which herpes virus, if any, I might have. I recently read somewhere though that neither of these would've been effective against #6 anyway. Have a look at the Keep Hope Alive site regarding Transfer Factor and Olive Leaf extract. I am looking to get one of my damn doctors (-: to do the Viracor RNA test, and if we find active #6, I'll probably be pounding those two along with Immunocal. Drs. Tim Brewer and Carol Ryser in Kansas, as well as Dr. Berg at Hemex, acknowledge TF has efficacy against #6 in most cases. - Chris Trudy Newman wrote: > Hi Beck! > > I wanted to ask you a question, but forgot to include it when I wrote > my last post.
