Guest guest
Hi all. My 6yo ds (Aspergers) has had a tiny red dot above his upper lip for a long time. It seems to wax and wane, but always remains small and doesn't blister or anything. I assume this is some form of herpes simplex and have never really worried about it since it is hardly noticeable. Lately, I was wondering if it could have anything to do with his autism, so I did a search. Surprisingly, I came up with several things on herpes simplex and autism. Unfortunately, I couldn't really understand any of them. One article simply mentioned that autism was caused by many things, and one of the causes listed was herpes simplex! Could this have something to do with Tom's autism? Neither of our dr.'s (ped. and DAN) have ever mentioned it, but I plan on bringing it up at our next appt.s. Does anyone know anything about this or have any information you could pass along? I would greatly appreciate gathering all the info. possible to take to the dr.s. Thank you so much and God Bless, Sally
