Guest guest
I haven't posted in eons, so hello to my old friends, and new ones also. I hope somebody there remembers me. I have been a patient of Dr. Cheney's since 1995. I am in the middle of my second 3 month dosage of Iso. The Iso is shipped from Ireland, and arrives on my doorstep, one day after Dr. Cheney faxes the prescription. Before I begin, let me say that I consider Isoprinosine a wonder drug despite wierd, unusual and annyoing side effects. (But keep in mind, that these may not be drug related side effects, they may be the result of the rebalancing of your TH immune system and thus caused by other things.) I know this drug does not work for everyone. I was diagnosed as having hundreds of millions of active HHV 7 circulating in my system. Even Dr. Cheney was astounded at the quantity, and the fact that I had no HHV 6 or HHV 6a. HHV 7 is closely related to HHV 6s, but just different enough to have its own classification (number 7). My dosage was and is 5 days on with 3 AM tabs and 3 PM tabs. Then 2 days of 1 AM tab and 1 PM tab, for 3 months. Take 2 weeks off and repeat. My experience during the first 3 months was different from my second 3 months which I am now completing. During the first 3 month cycle, I had dramatic side effects and dramatic improvments. I would feel sick all over and so miserable during the 2 day reduced dosage times each week. As the weeks went on, I could feel the improvements slowly disappearing, but I never went back to the base level. I will explain this later. During the 2 week break between the 3 month cycles, I was not well at all, and could not wait for the two weeks to be over. However, I was not as sick as I was during the two day reduced dosages. During the second 3 month cycle, I seem to have leveled out. I am not nearly as sick, if at all, during the 2 day reduced dosage. Most of the side effects are gone. I have improvements that have remained (so far) and improvements that seem to be decreasing a little each day. (One sad fact about immune system shifters, is that they become ineffective over (short and long) periods of time, hence the pulsed dosing schedule. I will save the best for last, and tell you about the side effects first. Within 2 days of starting the program (12 tabs), I broke out in what I presume to be fungus infections on the palms of my hands, feet, under breasts, groin area, under arms, and any where else you can sweat. Itched like crazy. My arm pits were bright red and yet dark colored at the same time as if they were stained with beet juice. I had a red mottling all over my body. On the inside of my legs, where your knees would touch ( all little higher and lower also), I got this red raised rash that felt like sandpaper. All of this subsided eventually, except the knee thing, but it is not as bad. I looked very gross. I also began breaking out in boils, in my leg groin area, and in my hair line (on my head). My head hair, began falling out like crazy (although I have gone through cycles of this from day 1 of CFS). In the past, I have also had these tiny little red blood dots on my skin and these tiny skin things like teeny raised bumps or pimples, but they are not pimples. These are mostly on my midriff and chest. Now, I have hundreds of both and they don't go away. Boo hoo, at one time I had beautiful and smooth skin. It seemed that my skin became much drier. Last, my ankles (and halfway up to my knees), and my feet became very swollen. (They still are, but not as much.) My shoes did not fit and still don't. This became dramatically worse when I went off the Iso for the two weeks. My ankles disappeared. This took a look time to decrease in severity, and has not totally gone away. It was awful, and hurt. I have always had severe, severe leg aching. That has disappeared. But now I have severe ankle aching, making it difficult to walk, and that has not gone away. Those are the major side effects for me. NOW, I CAN'T WAIT TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE TREMENDOUS IMPROVEMENTS, which I will put in Part 2. I will post this in a day or so. I haven't discussed any of this with Cheney yet, but I will see him in the fall. Bye from............Laurion
