Latest bloodwork results shows EBV--how do I

treat it?

Hi ,

I have a copy of a presentation written a my former doc about using BHT as a

treatment for HSV-2. I get really confused by all the HSV's and am not sure

if this applies to exactly which one that you may be referring to. Since

this is also about BHT, I though I would post it anyway. I am not a doctor

nor have enough knowledge to know if this is scientifically accurate so feel

free to critique the heck out of it! Would you please keep me/us posted on

what you do?

Kathy

START

The name of the paper is: Gender Specific Health Optimization Program

Butylated Hydroxytolune (BHT)

for

Herpes Treatment (HSV-2)

He gives an overview of the Herpes Simplex Virus: Has a lipid coating that

cloaks the protein portion of the virus. The immune system ability to

detect the virus is compromised.

He then explains BHT disruption of the virus: It disrupts the virus's lipid

clock. Vulnerable to attack by the immune system. Removes binding proteins

that viruses use to penetrate cell membrane.

He says BHT: Is a food preservative to prevent rancidity in fat containing

food. FDA approved its use in amounts up to 0.02 by weight of food product

since 1947. The typical daily intake is about 2 mg. Half life of 2 weeks.

He writes about the safety of BHT: It is a synthetic fat soluble compound.

LD50 with rats is 1,600 - 3,200 mg/kg of body weight. Translates to about

1/4 to 1/2

lbs for an 154 lbs person. Transient liver enzyme elevation.

The next page gives a BHT warning: Interferes with alcohol metabolism.

Alters barbiturate metabolism. Rare reports of mild skin rash. May cause a

transitory drop in blood pressure.

He gives the following treatment protocol:

Starting Dose is 250 mg capsule qd with highest fat content meal of the day.

If lesions not resolved in 4 days, double to 500 mg/d. May go up to 1000

mg/d. Continue for two weeks after herpes lesions have healed.

Maintenance dose for lifetime (to destroy mature virus particles rapidly) is

250 mg/d.

He mentions BHT Oil: Add 5 1/2 tsp BHT (16.5 grams) one quart (32 fluid

ounces) vegetable oil. Warm the double boiler to dissolve the BHT. 1

tablespoon = 250 mg of BHT. 64 tablespoons to a quart.
