Guest guest
Kathy, you asked about activated charcoal. A friend and member of our support group saw Cheney last week, and gave me a copy of the notes he made. They mention activated charcoal, though I don't know that this will answer your question! Cheney had recommended very high doses of S. Boulardii, I think to deal with parasites that had shown up on the Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis test from Great Smokies. After giving the dosing for the S. Boulardii, Cheney noted that Dave might initially experience a die-off effect, and to use the activated charcoal if that happened. The product Cheney uses comes in tabs or capsules, not loose powder. He said to take two to three tablets/capsules twice a day for two to eight days. I don't know what brand he's using, and I suspect that his use of activated charcoal may vary depending on the situation and patient. Perhaps other Cheney patients can clarify what brand of activated charcoal he uses, and how much one capsule/tablet contains. For those who are interested, the dosing of the S. Boulardii (available from needs.com) was four caps three times a day (away from meals) for two weeks and " wait and see " . (Not sure what he meant by that, and my friend couldn't remember!) Then drop to two caps twice a day away from meals thereafter, probably about two weeks. I suspect that he wants Dave to take the test again and see if the parasites are gone. At note on Cheney's health: Dave said Cheney looked pale and had lost weight, but his mind was razor sharp and he was extremely excited and optimistic about CFS Treatment in general - he talked about the GH Dave has been on for awhile and seen real improvement from, and talked about doing the bovine growth factors - after doing the amalgam removal protocol. And also about cord blood. That was a new one for me!! Never heard that before. But, of course, it's a great source of stem cells. As Dave's daughter is pregnant, this is something he's exploring. Cheney was experiencing severe pain in his foot, related to his heart condition. He couldn't put weight on it, at least that day, and had to use a wheel chair. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Carol- Thanks so much for the info...particularly the two to eight days per Cheney. I had just had two of my amalgams removed, 5 more to go. I have been using my regular dentist and to make a long story short, I was having shoulder and neck pain oin the same meridians as where these two teeth are located. I finally figured out that perhaps it had to do with my new composites. Thanks to the posts on our site about amalgams, I have put the remaining removals on hold an am actively researching an enviro dentist that will test for compatibility of materials and remove the remaining five and then deal with an old root canal. I have taken the charcoal for the past five days and feel better than I have since the two teeth were done (end of September). I am just wondering how much mercury vapors I enhaled and how much mercury was stirred up in my poor toxic body and contributing to my ailments, particularly the brain fog. It had been exceptionally bad for a while now. Thanks to a fellow list member, there seems to be a good dentist downstate that has quite a bit of experience with holistic dentistry. If I go to him I am sure that he will also be able to guide me on how to use the charcoal in this situation. I just wonder though if there are others that use the charcoal for other than acute situations...hmm.... Kathy Activated Charcoal / Parasites / S.
