Guest guest
Dear Forum members, I Completely agree with Sreeram on the points she raised against the Bill. When Indian legislators will learn to weigh pros & cons of a bill before passing it. Does AP government considered the effective implementation mechanism before introducing the bill. Particularly in a country where you have to bribe even to get a death certificate. This will be one more chance for the greasy hands to get public money and there lies the dangerous consequences of getting false certificates. In addition to the points Sreeram made, here are few questions for the Law makers & Group members to debate. 1. What are the penalties for the authorities if false certificate is given? Whether government compensate the victim (bride or bridegroom). 2. What if marriage is held without producing the certificate (Now at least 50% of the marriages are not registered & Other 50 % law abiding citizens also now reconsider about the registration because of this law.) Will government penalise the marriage party? If it penalises it will penalise whom? 3. In our culture Marriage is very much attached to the values (There are lot of incidents of suicides due to stopped marriages). What responsibility did govt. or society have against discrimination of HIV + person's family. (Is it not encouraging discrimination) With Regards Murali Murugesan EWMF, Salem mail: mmuralim@...
