So, in addition to strengthening our immune systems, we should look for ways to inhibit the growth of HHV6 (and other opportunistic viruses and infections). I have been doing phone consultations with Dr. Gersten (a big amino acids proponent) and seeing a local alternative MD. They have me taking quite a few supplements, including glutathione and glutathione precursors, whey, and Transfer Factor 64 (http://store./immunity/products.html), which is suppose to target HHV6 and EBV (expensive stuff). After two months on the program, I can definitely feel an improvement in my immune system because it takes days (sometimes just hours) instead of weeks to snap back from overdoing it. However, my overall energy level, low blood pressure, and occasional chest pains remain a problem. When I push, the BP goes down, along with the energy, and my chest hurts. After reading the posts on this list and consulting with some doctors, I have come to the realization that my adrenal gland is likely fatigued (exhausted) and possibly damaged by CFS. Hence, last week, I started taking an adrenal glandular to rebuild the gland, DHEA to support my adrenals, and will soon began using an adrenal cortex extract (http://www.biomax1.com/html/adrenal.htm). In the past, I have had excellent short-term results with treating my adrenal gland using Isocort (a bovine-derived adrenaline?). However, the familiar story happened, I eventually crashed, when I used the extra energy to go well beyond my boundaries. - don
