Warm regards from Manipur Network for Continuum of Care

In the last few year we have witnesses loses of many of our beloved brothers and

sister due to HIV/AIDS. The epidemic has been shifted from specific target group

to the general population. As the trend of the epidemic has changed varied

issues like the cases of widows, widowers and orphan children have been

increasing day-by-day. But unfortunately still the people infected and affected

by the disease do not have access to the care they need. People in resource poor

region like Manipur are having particular problems in getting access to good

care and support services. Beyond these economic constraints there is also the

matter of social and cultural access. Even though facilities are available

within the community or in the health settings, the people with HIV are not able

to access to the services they need due to unfriendly attitudes of the care

givers. By looking into all these issues and problems encountered by PLWHAs, it

was felt the need for promoting a collective effort to address these varied

issues and advocacy those in power to change their policies and practices to

meet the needs of the particular group under the umbrella of the Network.

In this regard, NGOs working in the field of HIV and other development and

welfare services felt the need for consolidate the existing network under the

common vision, mission, objectives and strategies. To achieve these felt needs a

Network of like minded Voluntary Organisation formed the Manipur Network For
