Hello All -

If you've been following Janet's story, you alreaday know that federal employees

have virtually no protection against unreasonable Worker's Comp decisions. There

is no accountability whatsoever, and very few attorneys are available to handle

this kind of case. That makes these state Senators the right people to step in

at this point.

For about a quarter, you can call this senator's office and leave a voice mail

letting him know his office has a job to do. They can ignore an email, they can

ignore a phone call. But come Monday morning, somebody in that office is going

to have to listen to all the voicemail. I don't think they're going to be able

to ignore a whole bunch of messages telling them to take action.

The number is below. Please mention Janet s and leave your name, so they

can keep track of how many individual calls they are getting on this.

Dear Honorable Senators , Congressman and Representatives,

This is Janet s. The woman still sick from mold at the Portsmouth

Naval Shipyard.

I was just denied Workmen's Comp because they say that the last place the

shipyard put me was environmentally safe. This was a computer room in an old

moldy building. I had to stay in that room. If I needed to use the copier or go

to the bathroom....the mold spore counts went from 108 spores to 200,000

spores. The elevator shaft was full of mold. There were chemical smells, burning

smells.

I live in my home with air cleaners and cannot venture outside when its

warm as I smell the mold from the ground and get asthma. They say Im not

disabled. It has compromised my immune system so bad I am allergic to almost

everything. I have become multiple chemical sensitive.

How can OWCP get away with this? They cleaned that basement with hazmat

suits. I am a hermit because of the mold. I cant get near any mold or I have

asthma and my joints hurt very badly and I cannot walk.

This last place was NOT fine and someone from safety at the Shipyard

even told me so.

WHY IS THIS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?????????????????

Hi ,

I used to live in Hove, so I know about the south coast old folk! But I do agree that fes should be more widely available. My neuro referred me after I presented her with all the information I had found (all a bit like getting ldn). I think I was the first person in Suffolk with MS to get a device fitted (there had been people who had had strokes before) but there have been several since, and staff are now trained at the local hospital to provide ongoing support - that long trek down to Salisbury was a bit of a struggle!

And about GABA - I tok that for a while on the advice of Dr Bob Lawrence. I was taking Rebif at the time, and he suggested GABA as an alternative to ldn (as interferon and ldn don't mix). I found the GABA did seem to offer some benefits, but it did induce a rather unpleasant bout of bowel incontinence, so I stopped taking it. I guess I hadn't got the dosage quite right. Maybe I'll think about trying it again.

Hi Mark,

Lucky you to have got your 'electric leg' as I lovingly call mine, on the NHS.I think you must have a 'switched on' or sympathetic neuro who could swing things for you!!! I was told that the NHS. no longer funded them!....the 'postcode lottery' I think. I live near Worthing ,Sussex where we are heavily loaded with the old and wrinklies[ self included] which may account for having to fund it for myself.I'm glad you were able to supply the additional websites which will help fellow sufferers in other countries. I think that such a wonderful aid should be available worldwide.

I don't know anything about the Chi machine. Sorry! But I do have the dreams. I am never crippled in my dreams. Sometimes I want to sleep my life away! Someone told me that this is because our spirits are in perfect health. Once, as I was drifting off to sleep, I heard a voice say that I would walk in seven days! It was as clear as a bell. I looked around to see if someone was there. Nobody. Seven days passed. Seven weeks passed. Seven months... Must have been a cruel joke! Funny how things work.

As far as the swelling, both of my feet and ankles used to swell horribly. Maybe it's the Pregnenolone and DHEA that I take. The swelling isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. That's all I was doing different when I noticed it wasn't so bad. 30mg Preg & 25mg DHEA from a health food store.

Try it!

I’m so sorry, Aylene. I have been there way too many times and understand your pain. Your dog will be in a better place, without pain. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Kenda

This is a non silicone or saline issue, but I just wanted to say that tomorrow at 8 am, I have to put my dog down after a long bout with illnesses. Life has been hard, but this is really hard.

You are a very good dog friend by allowing her to go when she needs to rather than letting her suffer. I believe we see our pets again. :)

I am so sorry to hear that. Just friday I climbed down into a ditch to save three little starving puppies who had been dumped on side of the road. Earlier this week I rescued a mistreated Poney named lucky. It is so hard for those of us that love our pets like part of the family to lose them. My heart bleeds for you. I know if anything ever happens to one of my four (babies)-Charlie the four year old cholate lab, Casie the nine year old yellow lab and sam and rusty the psycho cats.

Please know that we feel for you,

Love and hugs

Maybe someone has a solution for the vitamin intake problem. Is there a better way that works with most of the supplements that MS patients need? Or that other auto-immune patients need?

I HAVE A WEBSITE YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN. MOST OF THE VITAMINS ARE

IN POWDER FORM THAT YOU MIX W/ WATER AND DON'T TASTE ALL THAT BAD

EITHER. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

I think Perlmudder the alternative neuro has a brain wellness powder with alpha lipoic, b-12, co-q-10 and all the other neuro-protective factors. He is very well known and has written books and also a talk show. He resides in Naples, Florida. Besides that, you could go for a Murray liver detox that has all the vitamins or seasilver which is filled with minerals and tastes like cranberrry. You would need to add some curcumin in that blend though. Make sure you get capsules or powder., not caplets. Kathy

Janet,

I'm very sorry to hear this. It's never easy when you experience a hit

like this. I contacted the EEOC in the beginning also Janet, and their

lack of interest didn't help much so I wasn't expecting anything out

of them. They almost seemed like another money siphoning agency that

is basically useless. They rarely answered the phones, and never

seemed to have anybody in the office when I showed up.

Hang in there lady,

Sorry to hear about your bad news. It is terrible how the main focus seems to be

how to

prove if a person is lying about their disability.

I had a girlfriend that worked for an ins company trying to verify claims, and

she got very

cynical.

I haven't even tried, I didn't think I could get anywhere, esp when a doctor

said it was all in

my mind- it feels sometimes enemies are all around.

But it isn't true, you have friends here, or at least acquaintances, comrades in

arms, so to

speak. Try not to worry, it just makes it worse. Can you do something for

yourself, some

little reward for fighting the good fight? You deserve much better than this,

you really do,

but such is life.

So maybe some warm tea, a hot bath, a nice read in a warm blanket.

-, good for you, Im glad that your exposure to mold has not got

you to the point where traveling is the last thing you fell like

doing. I'm a bit puzzled, if you have cronic fatique, where do you

get the energy?

refresh my memory, weren't you one of eric's friends that not long

ago didn't believe that you were getting ill from mold exposure?

In my state the best advoidence is keeping windows shut and keeping

your air conditioner clean, because of MCS and liveing in a state

where mold is abundant. here, after 3 or 4 days of rain, the air

smells like mold. and did you know that some toxins put out by

certain molds can remain toxic for years even when they are dry?

do you know that some very toxic molds are found in sand and dirt?

dry and windy days can stir up molds and make than air borne.cant say

that I want to increase my risk of exposure to any toxins by

traveling. flying, and driving in polluted traffic and getting stuck

in traffic jams makes me ill.seems to me that even if the end spot is

free of mold, just getting there for people who suffer MCS,CFS and

other mold illnesses might be so very draining on what little energy

they have,it's not a option.

also, I have read that for people with allergies, new exposures in

other areas can cause new allergies.

point I trying to make is that mold exposure effects everyone

somewhat different depending on types , amounts and lenght of

exposure and their ability to fight off toxins. traveling for some

could make them very

ill.

Here is another poem:

Thirteen-year-old Arielle Murray wrote this lovely poem which pretty much

sums up how heartbreaking this whole scenario is for teenagers as they lose

their lives to mold from a hurricane. We would like to share it with you.

(from Mold-Help site)

Mold...The Destroyer

Only 13 years old exposed to mold

People don't understand, even when they are told.

For five whole years, we didn't know what was making us ill

All my parents could say is it must be God's will.

One doctor said one thing, one doctor said another

All I know is I almost lost my mother.

She laid in bed for two whole years

All I saw come out of her eyes were tears.

I kept on saying what's wrong with you

All she said is " Arielle I wish I knew. "

Two years before, she took me to school,

She went to my brothers baseball games,

She came and watched me at gymnastics,

She was my mom, she was cool.

Mold took over her life, It took over all of our lives.

All my dad wanted was his old wife.

Then we all started getting sick headaches, and burning nose,

Our whole bodys hurt, from our head to our toes.

It not only effects your body, but also your brain

Once your exposed you will never be the same.

We tried evrything we could think of and then lost our house,

All we have now is each other and love, I pray to God every single night

Make us the way we use to be, make everything alright.

The End
