Rich//Dr. Cutler/Vicki/Everyone,

Thanks to all of you who posted regarding sulfate sensitivities. I am

convinced that after 15 years that I can improve my health based on the

postings

on this list! I can't thank you all enough for your generosity of spirit and

incredible knowledge.

To answer your question Rich as to whether I have similar symptoms when I

ingest significant amounts of food that have high sulfur content such as eggs,

brassica family vegetables like garlic or onion.

I don't think that I am having problems with the foods that you mentioned

above. Like a lot of CFIDS people tho sometimes I just feel bad and can't

relate it exactly to anything I have eaten or done. I used to notice on

occasion

that my hands would smell " weird " (highly technical term) after chopping a

lot of onions or garlic for soup, etc. I can also take soaking baths with

epsom salts and not suffer any major effects. I recently added wedges of

cabbage

(and I seem to be tolerating that) to my vegetable juice to help with a

possible stomach problems. Maybe it is a matter of degrees? I don't believe I

take any other supplements that have sulfur in them.

These are the things I have reactions to that seem clear cut:

MSM - major fatigue/nausea and some dizziness

aspartame - nausea

green tea - nausea (this one really baffles me)

d-ribose - burning stomach pain

B-6 - slight nausea/fatigue

All allopathic antibiotics cause me problems. Goldenseal seems to work well.

There are probably others, but I am having a bad day and can't think of

anything else to add. I am going to post another message right after this one

asking about possible lab tests.

Everyone - thanks for all of your help,

Maxine
