Guest guest
Hi, Pam. These things are new to me, too. Thanks for posting them! The thyroid certainly plays a lot of important roles. I am continually amazed by all the interactions in the human body. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I still believe that in many cases, glutathione depletion is the cause for the thyroid problems in CFS, as it is the cause for so many other aspects of the pathogenesis and pathophysiology. I think that bringing glutathione back up can restore the thyroid to proper operation if the autoimmune damage process has not gone too far. This seems to be the experience of and of CS on this list. No blood flow to the skin causes toxins to build up and you get MCS also. *Ref: April 2005 newsletter at www.virtualhometown.com/dfwcfids Al
Guest guest
Another orange skinned alien reports in. I have had very similar problems for years. Orange toned skin, esp. hands, and face (never looked at the soles of my feet ). Lots of gut problems, and clinical signs of hypothyroidism. Dr. Cheney's theory of reduced microcirculation could apply here. However, I did not test out as having heart problems. Dr. Cheney told me that some of his patients, including me, are " other than " . So, there are other causes of this orange skin/ gut thing, than the diastolic cardiomyopathy/microcirculation. Anti-histamines helped my gut problems quite a bit in the last few months. I gained 20 much needed pounds on them, felt a lot better, and had my gut calm down a bit. Lately, I have added Enzymedica Digest Gold Enzymes. My digestion and gut are much better with these, and I have lost some of the orange hue to my skin. Others have even commented on my improved skin tone.
