Guest guest
I have gainied a lot of weight since I got sick from not being able to exercise also. It is very frustrating I know. I have not been able to walk for several years now except for hobbling painfully a little bit with a lot of pain in my feet & legs. I understand your problem. Any time I attempt any exercise, I crash & relapse & suffer so much more pain in the areas I used of muscle & joints plus more nerve pain etc. I try to do a little bit whenever I can, but just basic self care seems to be the most exercise I can get now. Though I try to dance for maybe 30 seconds at a time to loosen up my body & stretch & do a bit of energy Chi Gung exercises when I can. I am resigned to waiting till I can regain my health more so I can exercise to start seriously losing any weight. But, What I am suggesting for you is to try a Chi machine I have been using a Chi machine which is a passive exercisor machine. I use the least expensive one which has worked fine for me for many years. But there are different & more expensive models. I taped some nonslip material on the leg rests for padding & comfort & I put the ticking control timer under a thick blanket to block the sound. You can use it in bed as I do. You just lie down & rest your ankles on it & it swings your body back & forth vigorously for 15 minutes. It stimulates the circulation & loosens up the back & neck muscles & helps with lymph stimulation. It relaxes me so I can sleep better & I also use it to energize myself when I am tired or in pain. It will not help you lose a lot of weight, but it will help counteract having to be so inactive. I try to use it in the morning when I wake up or at night before sleeping or sometimes when I am in a lot of pain or trying to nap & cannot sleep. good luck C J
Guest guest
_Chi Machines_ (http://www.allaboutchi.com/app/category/chi_health_devices_chi/c/13) I found the $100 chi swing machine reliable & it worked fine for me. I did not see a need for variable speed or the other features in the more expensive machines. But I also have not tried them, So I guess it is up to your budget which you want to try. I really feel the difference using this machine. Not a lot of other exercise options for some of us.
