Guest guest
Hi Group: One thing that really puzzles me in the CDC report is that, contrary to their assertions that we CFIDSers can't handle stress, many folks I know, including myself, appear to get slightly better - more energy, less symptoms - when we get a cold or other ailments. These ailments are physiological stressors, aren't they? Does anybody have any thoughts on this contradiction? Naomi Weisstein
Guest guest
Hi Naomi, I am not sure if anyone else addressed this yet or not, as I am trying to catch up on about 300 unread posts. I will tell you that this is one of the questions the FFC asked me that helped them determine that I had an infectious disease. I will be posting an email later detailing all of this information, but I realized that when I got sick, I often needed an antibiotic which would help my body fight the chronic infection that I didn't know I had for 5 years. I also jsut learned that I have several food and/or chemical sensitivities that I was completely unaware of. I suspect that when I would get sick with a cold or a virus, my body would start to fight the cold/virus, and stop attacking me (due to ingesting the offensive food). I am not sure if this is a clear answer. Please feel free to ask me to clarify. I am still trying to process all this information myself, as I just got it on Monday. And, as I said, I soon plan to post all of the details of my most recent visit, including all of the information about the food allergies and the infectious disease.
