Guest guest
Violence Still Continues among Sex workers in Kerala We have been mentioning about the rampant violence among sex workers in Kerala over the years. The latest episode of its kind took place in the cultural capital of Kerala, Thrissur. Santha a sexworkers was suspected to be killed by a goon. The body was found in a drainage. It was burned and the face was fully mutilated. The postmortem report says that she was killed on suffocation and was later burned. The police is searching to nab the culprit. She also lost her gold ornaments of about rupees forty thousand. Every year 7-8 sex workers are killed in Kerala under similar circumstances and no action has been taken against those who committed the murders. There is dare neglect from the part of the law and order machinery in this regard. The NO ACTION stand precipitates the activities of the criminals. We have already filed a case and complained to the human rights commission and may need all your support to continue our work. The criminalized atmosphere against sex workers in Kerala is a major threat. Unless this is addressed no thing will help serve better the AIDS prevention program in the state. Is the government not interested in AIDS prevention? LET THEM COME OUT… love Subhash.
