Dear World AIDS Campaigner

As we approach the middle of 2003 the Live and let live campaign targeting

HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination continues to gather momentum.

New poster

A new poster is now available as part of the Live and let live campaign

targeting HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination. The poster highlights the

damaging impact of stigma and discrimination. Copies of the poster are available

by sending an email to wac@...

Limited numbers can be distributed directly from UNAIDS in Geneva. UNAIDS

cosponsors and country offices will also be sent multiple copies to distribute

locally and free CDs will also be available from Geneva to anyone wanting to

print their own. It will also be possible to download the posters directly from

the website. Anyone who wants to adapt the poster for their own local needs is

also encouraged to do so.

An English version of the poster can now be seen on the campaign website at

www.unaids.org/wac/2002/posters_1.html

Television spot

A television spot has also been produced along the same theme and is also being

sent to our key in-country contacts for distribution through television

networks. A digital version will be posted on the website in the next few weeks.

The TV spot is available in 30 and 60 second versions in

English/French/Russian/Spanish and there is also a blank 'international' version

which can be easily adapted for other local languages.

Campaign guide

A handy reference tool for anyone co-ordinating a campaign has also been

produced and can be downloaded from the website. The guide to 'Developing a

campaign' describes how to develop a strategy and plan for a campaign using

examples from HIV/AIDS related campaigns. It is available at

http://www.unaids.org/wac/2002/campaign_en.html

Links

As usual UNAIDS continues to provide links to initiatives and materials relating

to this year's theme and other campaign activity on the website. Don't forget to

regularly check the LINKS section of the site for an insight into what is

happening elsewhere. http://www.unaids.org/wac/2002/links.html

Finally UNAIDS and key partners are currently exploring a number of ways to

strengthen the campaign in future years. We will keep you posted on

developments as they become clear.

Best wishes from the World AIDS Campaign at UNAIDS
