Guest guest
Dear Listmates, We are going forward with the anti-viral plan of acyclovir (or valtrex), Famvir, then Kutapressin. Celeste has been on 200mg2x/day of acyclovir for 6 days now. Does Dr. Goldberg keep patients on an anti-viral for longer than the standard 7-day duration? She has atypical " rash " outbreaks, and has recently suffered another severe abdominal pain episode, which is why we are trying acyclovir. Her abdominal pain begins at the navel, then spreads down and up as days go by; current episode is ongoing at about three weeks now. Are the anti-virals supposed to stop the intestinal outbreak/pain? She has agreed a month ago to go off milk products again, and since then has been agreeing to stop eating other foods that irritate her intestines: citrus, oily foods--this is hard for a 10-yr-old. Her abdominal pain is persisting. I picked up today a book I had ordered on GFCF diet, so will most likely be trying to cook some dishes without gluten as well. Thanks again for being there.
