HIV positive woman died a natural death

TIRUPATI: A report that an HIV-affected woman was stoned to death in the

chief minister's constituency Kuppam last week was denied by Kuppam special

officer Sharath on Friday.

An HIV-affected woman Pavanamma, 30, was reportedly stoned to death on July

4. A police inquiry on Thursday revealed that the woman had been sick and

died a ˜natural death.

Sharath said that during inquiry Pavanamma's mother Sharadamma told him

that there she had been attending on her ailing daughter for the past year.

He also said this fact was confirmed by the womanâ's relatives and fellow

villagers.

A laboratory technician of the area hospital also confirmed that Pavanamma’

s ondition had been ˜very bad™ when she came to the hospital the day

before she died.
