Joan,

I accidentally just ran into this website with the information for Texas:

For general insect questions or help with insect problems, click here to find a Texas ative Extension entomology specialist in your area. You can call us directly at 979-845-7026. For problems with fire ants, click here. To send insect or insect damage specimens, get the form and instructions. [PDF] To send insect images for identification, send JPG image as an e-mail attachment to Dr. Jackman. or call at 979-845-7026.

The link to that page is:

Hopefully you can take a picture of the sample to send to Dr. Jackman for preview and maybe share with us :-)

I have a very simple plastic microscope ($29 at Target) but was able to take pictures with a Sony digital camera by putting it into macro mode and placing the camera directly into the eyepiece of the microscope. It takes a little bit of time to get the image right but at least is a possibility.

Good luck- MM

MM - thanks for the info. I didn't get to my brother-in-law's today to

use his microscope and will not be able to tomorrow as we go back to

dermatologist. He is trying to help us but am not sure he will be able

to do much more than he already has. At least he believes us and has

seen it before. Also, since tuesday is a holiday I won't be able to do

any mailing or contacting.

I'm so glad your wife and children are bug-free right now and sure hope

it lasts.

I will keep you informed. Joan

Hi MM & all. I got some pictures today, however I found out I am not a

great photographer and am a dummy when it comes to sending the pictures

to the file. Could you tell me how to do it? I did get some fairly

clear pictures but none with a complete set of legs and a couple of very

strange looking objects that looked like they had a black pearl and some

white beads inside. I took a bunch of pictures but since I am limited

to 5 mb had to weed out some of them. I ended up with 5,07 mb so maybe

it will pass. Anyone?

Hi Joan,

I see you have created the album already. I received an error the first

time I tried to upload the pictures, but the second time it worked.

I would make sure they are JPEG format and then try to upload just one

picture first to see if it works. If it works, then upload a couple more

at a time. If they are big size pictures it takes some time to upload

them so I would do just a couple at a time.

Hope it helps. I look forward to seeing your pics.
