Guest guest
Hi Fritolay- please let me know how your doxy experiment goes. I have something painful inside my nose for about a month now that does not seem to go away with anything I've tried so far. While you are in the thinking mode I wanted to share one theory: I've read that insects have a wax coat that protects them from insecticides and the way biological pesticides work is in combination with " surfactants " to get rid of the wax surface so that the enzymes can get to the insect body. Reading on surfactants it appears that they lower the surface tension of the material they become in contact with. For example, soaps and detergents all use surfactants to loosen up the dirt. Windex also contains surfactants, that's why it bubbles up a little when you shake it. Concentrated soaps like Dawn also has a bunch of surfactants. Would that be the reason why Windex is so effective and diluted ammonia isn't against the mites? Diluted ammonia doesn't contain surfactants and in theory the protective layer of the insects would prevent them from being harmed by the ammonia. In the case of Windex, the surfactant may loosen up the protective wax, thus leaving the insect body vulnerable to the ammonia-D in the Windex. Any comments are welcome- MM > > > I have been thinking again......eishhh Nasal Membranes. > > OK, it would seem when it was considered that I may have Lyme, I was put > on doxy. Guest guest
This could be the reason the Borax has an affect on them. It is a salt. > > > > > > I have been thinking again......eishhh Nasal Membranes. > > > > OK, it would seem when it was considered that I may have Lyme, I was > put > > on doxy.
