If you're familar with the Topix forum, I guess I don't need to tell

you a thing about sarcoptic mites, you could probably tell me! I've

decided that I should just listen to MK and S and treat for sarcoptic

mites aggressively and see if anything changes as it sounds like the

one case of entomologist-confirmed bird mites, Joan, is getting good

results with her husband who is on basically the same protocol. I

don't see how I could have sarcoptic mites, mine behave like biting

mites, plus. 1. No close contact with anybody, married for a

decade. 2. Husband unaffected after three months, share bed. 3. No

rash in webs of fingers, wrists, hands, buttocks, waist, inner elbows

or knees, or groin. No characteristic sarcoptic rash sites of any

kind. 4. Do have individual bites on furred parts of outer arms and

scalp, no burrows, no black spots, actually, now no bumps on body

more tiny red bites and itching. 5. Cat is indoor pet. 6. Doctor

didn't think I had scabies. 7. Have a way-too-close tree with many

empty bird nests and two empty squirrel nests that was distrubed this

September by painters painting the trim of the building, and the

cherry picker bent branches and they snapped a lot against the side

of the building and we left the windows open to prevent them from

being painted shut. Well, anyway, I have seen only one mite, and it

looked white and pudgy and nearly legless, and I did not think it

looked like a bird mite, but rather like a white sarcoptic mite, so

in spite of every single environmental factor and every diagnostic

sign being uncharacteristic, I think I need to see if this sorts

things out for me and get treating with traditional prescription meds

and hope it's not too late! BTW, I can't count up the amount of tiny

threads I've seen, but I not only saw the white mite, it was still

moving, it was a mite, but I think it might have been a really rare

chance to see one if it is indeed sarcoptic. I may just be completely

atypical, but two posters on the Topix forum had similar atypical

histories, and on is cured and one is almost cured, so that's the

avenue I'll be persuing. I probably will not be using my computer for

long enough to post on here and will try to stay away, as this is the

area closest to where I first had the branches touch the building,

and where I first started feeling bites. I will be on " vaccation "

from my computer as much as possible as it is a major source of

contaigon for me, so won't be answering posts during this month.

Best to you all, you wonderful bunch of friends, thanks for the help,

support and guidance. Katzy

Hi Katzy. You are alot of help on the Topix forum. Don't be a

stranger. I go round and round with what I think I have. After 2

years, I still don't know. Take care, Mel

How are you doing Mel...............are your running any dehumidifiers? I'm trying to keep up with who is running the units and if they are getting any relief with them. Rita

Holly. I am thinking that you should move from there. You have only been there a month

and a half. did you get these mites when you moved in there, or did you have them before you moved in? If you are just renting, it would be best to get out of there. This is no joke.

Rita

I've had mine running day and nite at 35% since early august. I know its

working because I no longer ger the bites on my ankles and tops of

feet I now have a rug in my room on the cold tile and still no bite. I

believe I have them internally in my upper respratory and eyes. That's

what I been dealing with, as far as environment. It has kept them down

to a low

Hi Rita (my hero): ummmm, I am waiting for my dehumidifier to come in the mail. I ordered the one on Amazon dot com, the one that got some good ratings. I am going to first try it in my car. I am actually afraid of driving my car, if you can believe that. I think somehow my vents may stay open or something and the humidity gets high in there. You reminded me. I am going to let off a 5 pounder tonight in the car. grumble little stumble butts.

Adam,

Are you using menthol crystals? I also had them in my lungs and

found that when we started burning the menthol in our rooms that

breathing it killed them off. Smoking also seems to kill them also.

Hi Mel,

Since you and Rita are the ones that turned me on to the CO2...

I wanted to pass on a little tip. The menthol crystals work great

in the car. I either use a coffee cup warmer plate ($4.00 at

walgreens)and a extension cord when its parked at the house or I use

one of those 12 volt car coffee cups that keep the beverage warm while

driving. Take a tea light candle and run run hot water over the bottom

of it till I can slip the candle out of the metal holder. The metal

holder is the perfect container for the menthol. A pound of menthol

crystals will last a long time. We use it in our house and cars, we

also use it to keep them out of our shoes.

LOL,

Adam you always crack me up dude. I laughed so hard I fell out of my

chair the other day when you were describing what you did to your

friend with the dog shock collar. You write so well....when you

descibe something its very easy to picture it in the readers

imagination. Maybe you should be a writer by profession?

Anyway, sorry your Gramp won't let you use the menthol, guess you

will have to see if your bugs are 411 friendly LOL.

The other day while online I ran across some info about a natural

cure for cataracts that uses drops of N-Acetylcarnosine in the eyes.

I guess the N-Acetylcarnosine disolves the cataracts.

Have you seen this before?

I purchased a dehumidifier and I have had it on going on 4 weeks.

The numbers have gone down but it no way have are the mites gone.

They are still lingering. I am wondering if Jeff had such success

because of his precaution at such an early stage. I had my hopes

high but they are starting to dwindle AGAIN. Blanca
