Guest guest
On the walls and ceiling I was just spraying Windex original and leaving it. No wiping. I was spraying Windex heavily once a week all over my house. Carpets, sofas, moving the sofas and spraying underneith, pulling out the cushions and spraying both sides and under the cushions but not putting the cushions on until the next day. I cleaned all countertops everyday and I sprayed the cabinets and wiped them down with paper towels like twice a week. Windex is not as hard on poly as other things I have read about. I chose not to do cleaning with Bleach and water because the Windex had Amonnia (Amonnia-D) and you don't want to mix that with bleach. I was spraying the hardwood floor with Windex and letting it sit and them coming back and moping with Hot water, 20 mule borax and some blue floor wax only because it smelled good (sorry can't remember the name). At first I was puting Borax on the carpets every other day and vacumming but realized you can put it in the carpet once every 5 days and then vacumm it up and put more Borax down. You buy 20 mule borax in the clothes detergent isle at the super market. Shake the box and make sure it isn't clumped up before you buy it (makes sprinkling easier). Sprinkle it in your car carpets and let it sit and vacumm it up weekly. I was doing it every other day but realized I only had so many hours in the day and I also had to sleep and work so I started doing it once a week. Spray your car seats, steering and carpets everytime you get out with Windex. No need to wipe. I sprayed it on the radio, and built in navigation system and didn't ruin anything. Remember you want to do it when you are getting out not in and don't forget to do it every time if possible. Once a week when you are vacumming up the car spray the headliner, door jams and everywhere really good with Windex. During the week you can just maintain and spray the seats that were used and steering wheel. I did try Sevin dusting insecticide in the carpets but it didn't seem as affective nor as safe for us or the kids. I would spray the shower floor like 2 or three times a day after I went to the restroom. To kill the ones that lived through your showering. Bag your dirty clothes and wash them with clothes detergent, bleach and borax as hot as possible. Once I did that I stopped having to put my clothes through 2 dry cycles (saving more time). At work I was spraying my desk, keyboard and mouse with Windex when leaving for the day and when I went to lunch. The mites were living in and under my keyboard so if I forgot I got ate up the next day. I would also spray my work chair which is cloth but some days I'd put plastic trash bags on it. Yup, I got laughted at but it was better than being bitten all day at work. That is all I can think of right now but I had to learn to work smarter because I wasn't sleeping wiping everything down every day and vacuuming the house every day. We have a lot of carpet and if I went as fast as I could it would take about an hour and 15 min. So, I had to learn to budget time and get some sleep.
