Guest guest
Sarakinderson, don't feel too hopeless. Things can improve, it just takes time and patience and trying new things. I'm in my 20s too. I had so many options open to me and my life ahead of me and then it seemed it all just stopped. I'm struggling to continue with college. txnpriest is also college age and I found a guy on the net from Minnesota who has these mites and he's college age, too. Maybe he's on this forum, I just don't know. I read a post from him on another forum from a month ago and left him a note there inviting him to this forum. Earlier someone (zmooks?) mentioned that they were moving and they found mouse nests in the basement. When I got infested, it was preceded by a dead rat. Then, when I got out of the infested house and got to another house, the other house exploded with infestation. The people living there were adament that there could be no rodents in the house. When we put D-Con in the crawlspace, three trays of it got eaten, so there were definately rodents there and the mites seemed to be breeding off of them. Now, I'm in a different place and my mites seem to be almost gone. While I know this building has rodents, it seems they are not near my living quarters and I don't know if they've gotten the mites yet. I keep throwing away my flatmates trash and cleaning places. I got on one of their backs for constantly leaving crackers and pizza out to rot, if he keeps doing it, it's a matter of time before the mice and maybe rats come in. I'm sharing this because some people have been fighting the mites for years on this forum and I thought that it might be worth a try to put out traps and poison for rats and mice. Read on the net about rodent control. You might notice a difference with the mites if you can kill all possible rodents in the house and nearby buildings (garage, shacks etc.). And yes, tropical rat mites love to pick one person and then stick to them. For the first month or so of the infestation, no one else felt them or experienced them.
