Guest guest
1. A web visitor recommended the following to treat pets with mites (quoted below) "Mycodex House Spray is the only spray that worked in my house for Mites & fleas, I got mine from my vet but you can find it online. If you must use chemicals please don\'t waste your time with other things I tried it all even commercial brands and an exterminator & nothing else worked only the Micodex. I also spray windex inside my windows and around the doors on the outside. Works well. We also had springtails @ the only thing that kept them away was cleaning the floors with windex until we finally found and fixed the leak that was attracting them." Maybe it's worth a try -- especially for those with pets. 2. I noted that several people expressed the discomfort associated with grainy salt granules on their bodies, bed sheets, clothing; and embarrassment of people noticing "white powder" either on them or in their environment. The salt granules don't dissolve in creams or cold water. How about dissolving the Epsom salt in hot water first, then allowing it to cool down, adding it to their creams / wash lotions and/or pouring it over your body? Has anybody tried that yet?? Guest guest
I tired that last night. It didn't kill them all. My my coat of epsom salt wasn't thick enough. I think it discouraged them from certain spots but not kill them. Plus I knocked the power out twice from my blow dryer. I had to go ask my neighbor to restart it. I felt one crawl from my cheek and into my ear. I was too tired from cleaning to do anything. Can anyone give me their EXACT bathing routinue along with how long it takes? I've taken two showers this morning and it didn't really do anything. Rita? How many showers a day? What was your daily cleaning rountinue? How often did you treat your cube? > > 1. Guest guest
, I wash my skin with Dr. Bronner's castile soap with tea tree oil. It seems to kill whatever is on my skin, but does not get whatever is deep inside my skin. The first time you use it it will sting a lot because it's killing things. After that, it doesn't sting too badly. I sometimes use " Margo " neem soap from India. It's not as strong as the castile soap and not quite as effective, but sometimes I alternate cleaning products. The Margo soap is mild enough for my eyelashes, and I've used it to get the colonies out of my eyes. I try to leave the soap on for a few minutes before I rinse off. I use a rough nylon wash cloth to rub the soap off my skin. For shampoo I alternate amongst Head & Shoulders, Selsun Blue, Sulfadene (dog shampoo), and Koo-dies (lice shampoo). I only bath once daily to give my skin a chance to replenish its natural oils. After the shower, I towel dry with a microfiber kitchen towel. I bought a 12-pack of them at Costco. They are large enough to use as small bath towels. I change the towel everyday. I use almond oil mixed with neem oil on the pubic area, to keep bugs away from my crotch (sorry), and Dr. Bronner's peppermint lotion on the rest of my body. Sometimes I rub neem oil on my ears and the nape of my neck. The Dr. Bronner's products have worked pretty well for me. I work and cannot go out with salt all over me. I've been cleaning my work space on Sunday mornings, when no one is around. When I spray the epsom salt solution, I am careful to wipe it off the electric cords and anything plastic, otherwise it dries and looks a mess. If you can't do that, get some BEST YET from cedarcide and spray that in your work area on a day when no one is there so the smell won't bother them. Gotta go, myrtle > > > > 1. Guest guest
My bathing routine takes about half an hour. First I wash absolutely everything with Dial antibacterial bar soap, then I turn off the shower and put on a coat of tea tree oil conditioner, paying special attention to areas that the mites like, such as my head, feet, inner thighs, forearms, and chest. Then, I rinse lightly and make sure a good bit of the conditioner stays on me. Then, I leave the shower, pat down with a towel, put vaseline in the key areas the mites like and spray repellant elsewhere. During the day, I use Picardin repellants that don't smell and are less toxic than DEET, they are only effective for some 6 hours, but it helps sitting in the car or bustling about in my quarters. There are a lot of Picardin repellants out there. Since I use it everyday, I make sure the amount of Picardin is low, like 6% During the night I use Lemon-Eucalyptus and Cedarcide. I've found that it helps to shave off all body hair. Since I'm a guy, I've also shaved my head and shave it every day. As far as my leg hair etc. It takes too long to shave everything every day, so it gets long fast. I think my electrical razor can't handle all the shaving, one part already broke and I think the other is going soon as well. > > > > 1.
